Don't trust them to do anything with Direct Debits. They will take what they take and sometimes it will follow no logic.
I'm sorry I couldn't sponsor you. Maybe next year eh :rotfl: I would love to but I've just had a job rejection today. They had two candidates jointly top (one me) and they've offered the job to the other person. If you need sponsoring once I have a job I will do it.
Hope you have a good walk tomorrow night and I hope you are not at work on Monday, hope you are resting up.

Sorry to here you didn't get the job Butti
They don't know what they are missing.
Good luck for tomorrow Nic, don't think the hurricane is due to hit until Monday or Tuesday :j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Oh well, that's ok then Maty!
Monday's good for a hurricane! :rotfl:
Weather here decidedly dodgy this morning. It is set to get better. But I'm resigned to getting wet! Completely in denial about having to even do it though! Though there are pit stops every 4 miles and rescue cars! So it'll be fine.
Nope, I don't have Monday off. No holidays left (or at least, I want a full week some time in the new year and my hols run Aprril-March, so not willing to take one). I have a conference meeting in the mrning then not much scheduled in. Though I think that may be worse for stiffening up! Time will tell!
Don't worry about not being able to sponsor me. As I've saud before, you should only donate to causes you believe in and only if you can afford to. It's very easy to bombard fb with status updates - but remember I have a lot of family members on there and they need reminding some of them are a wee bit scatty and disorganised (see, it's not my fault. It's in my genes to be that way. :rotfl:)
Sorry about the job. Keep your spirits up, bounce right back up and go at it for the next one. Big hugs x
Re-read the student loans letter today. It makes perfect sense; it's the schedule that doesn't. They've scheduled 6 monthly payments of £28.83 and a final payment of £565.40, so they are going to even them out. But not in time for Septembers D/D.
So in theory I have a spare £80 to put towards RBS this month. And my student loan repayment will go up to about £120 from next month.
But that means they are both well on course for being finished in 7 months. Which in theory gives me £400 a month to then pay towards Northern Rock.
Right, I'm off. I might not be about for a few days. I probably won't be able to walk to the broadband box to switch it on! :rotfl:Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

:beer:Hi Everyone
I have been lurking, but have been very busy. Shame I had to miss the re-union. The Dutch lot only come over once a year and sure enough they picked that weekend. Up for the next one tho.:j
Butti, Tunbridge Wells has a hugh regeneration planned for its Social Housing. Two very large estates (one behind me) is being raised to the ground (176 flats) replacing them with 200 houses, and another on the other side of town. There could be masses of work for you. One of our MOB supporters is on our local council and we became friends when she came for coffee and to see the DIY SOS photos. She could maybe point you in the right direction and even manage an introduction.
Which brings me nicely to the reason for this note. Sky 246 (Home) is sending out OUR DIY SOS - the Big Build tonight at 9pm and 2am. Virgin is also sending it out. Not on Freeview I'm afraid. Anyone who missed it can catch up and record.
Good luck with the run Nicci, just back from a week in Brighton and gale force winds and rain.
SB I will reply to your email this weekend.
I have told Mike and his comment was that tommorrow would be another geekers day with people peering in his windows.

Well done Nic, sorry I missed it as I was away promming. Hope that you enjoyed yourself.
Quick thought re VSO and Work. I was chatting with somebody the other day from Edingburgh she works for a university and OH works for civil service. They have applied for a career break to work the Ski Season for 5 months and had it granted. Hit me like a ton of bricks........... thought of you and wondered if that is a consideration for you in your job. Lots of companies will jump at the opportunity to be linked to something like VSO even though all they are doing is a career break. Anway, just a thought in case you hadnt thought of it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Thanks MrsMoo. There is a career break policy but VSO is covered separately. I just haven't figured out where it is written in stone yet! (I will email HR, but at the time I was initially looking, I was still having return to work meetings and my boss was wittering on about the capability policy. I thought it best not to email the same person that had been in on all the meetings asking about VSO.
I do know they have a link with NHS Scotland. I'm just not entirely clear what that link is any more. They used to pay your pension, but they stopped that at the beginning of this financial year. I presume it will be similar to a career break policy in that they will "hold" your job - or more realistically, take you back into an available post... and giving waht is currently happening, I presume that would be taking me back on at the lowest payscale they can. However, there is talk of all our posts being downgraded anyway (a kinda enforced redeployment), so if they are going to do it, I might as well be out of the country while they do!
Anyhoo, I have a busy week as I need to go to a funeral on Friday so the course work (which all still needs to be completed) needs to be in by Thursday! I don't half make it easy for myself!
So I probably will be MIA for the next week.
Just popped on to say I paid £81.17 to the RBS from bills account. £80 is what would normally have gone to student loans. And the £1.17 is just keeping it tidy and rounding it down.
Not any-where near as sore as I thought I might be today. I'm wondering if that means I am in for a shock tomorrow! (I did look rather odd at most meetings I was at today though as I kept getting up to keep myself moving and stop my legs from seizing up! :rotfl:)
My walking partner asked me if I was up for walking the London marathon. But we think we will have missed the deadline this time round. So we are going to see what smaller walks are happening to keep us going.

Quick breather...
I'm not keeping up to date with every-one at the moment, so hope you are all doing well. Any major gossip, do tell here.
I am one assignment and 5 assessments down. One assignment and less then 24 hours to go! Not how I would advocate completing a course of any kind and I am sure the prof would agree!
Now the hard part - the final assignment! Deep breaths...
(PS I will be awol for quite a bit longer as I need to go home for a funeral tomorrow and will stay the weekend (the wife of the couple who celebrated 70 years together).
Next week I will be visiting various neglected friend's in a brief bit of respite before freaking out about completing and presenting at the conference.
Feeling a little bit overwhelmed!
But glad to say recovery from the marathon was quick and relatively painless! So hopefully the feeling of being overwhelmed will also pass.
Big hugs to you all, and if I don't manage on befroe, I'll hopefully be back this time next week.Jan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55
