You should do a little more research Plane stupid aren't against air travel they are against any expansion in air travel
http://www.planestupid.com/aboutus
So before you start accusing people of double standards you need to actually understand the issuesWe have three demands:- End to short haul flights and airport expansion
- Stop aviation advertising
- A just transition to sustainable jobs and transport
Plane Stupid is a direct action group. Want to join? You don't have to start by blockading a runway (although we'd love it if you did)We came together in 2005 to oppose an aviation industry conference and have been taking action ever since. So far we’ve occupied Stansted, East Midlands, and Aberdeen airports; shut down easyJet and BAA’s headquarters; stopped private jets at Biggin Hill, London City and Edinburgh airports; sat atop the House of Commons and the Scottish Parliament; supported the Camp for Climate Action at Heathrow; worked with local residents to defend their homes from the bulldozers; exposed a corporate spy and chucked green custard over Peter Mandelson.
Obviously I misunderstand the issues. Is there separation between opposing air travel and airport expansion?
All too often you hear someone say: "What about all the workers that will lose their jobs if there were no short-haul flights"
Seems pretty clear to me.

I love Lush. My 12 year old daughter has severe eczema and couldn't bathe in anything fun until we discovered Lush. All she could use was Diprobase. Now she uses anything from there that doesn't have glitter in and her skin is like silk. We all use it now and I'm glad we found them.

Hopefully, this online ingredients list will help...I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Rather than trusting someone who is probably working there to fund their life outside A levels, perhaps, in these days of internet access, the OP should have considered looking up the ingredients lists online, rather than going into a shop uninformed and not reading the ingredients in the shop either.
No degree in organic chemistry required.
The OP has looked on the internet and I simply couldnt get a word in edge ways with the sales pitch ready staff.
I buy products that do not contain SLS which is a known irritant and causes my daughter to react. You are ill informed to assume im uninformed dont you think??

When I mentioned about skin out breaks, I meant we ended up covered in spots where the products are too rich and oily
I do make some of my own products especially bath salts, but its all about having the time, and sometimes as a mum its nice to have a treat
My point about SLS is, Lush have rightfully removed it from some of their products because its bad for you.. yet they have left it in other products... doesnt make much sense!!0 -

Firstly, a degree in organic chemistry isn't necessary to read a product listing - ie, it doesn't contain complicated structural formulae, it's plain(ish) English.
However, studying the subject makes it more likely to be aware of the subtle differences between the common usages of the term 'organic'. As you are so well-informed, you know of these differences already, but perhaps someone else reading the posts didn't.
Secondly, if you were already so well informed (and had a darn good reason to be so), why on earth did you -
a. not check online for ingredients listings which are easily available, and decide there and then that the shop was not selling suitable products?
b. take the word of a sales rep, who has to make a living after all?
c. buy the stuff when you were apparently unable to even squeeze in a 'what's in it?'
d. use the stuff without checking the ingredients before they went on your skin?
I cannot understand why you would buy any product without checking the ingredients first if you are keen to avoid certain compounds.
It's like a vegetarian avoiding meat until they order the soup of the day in a restaurant, and being upset when it turns out that it was chicken, saying they had to order it without asking what it was because the chatty waitress said her nan likes it.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Hi. Just on a bit of a different tack, it's worth thinking about the use of Palm Oil in cosmetics. Look up Sodium Palmate.
Lush are looking at ways of not using it, but way too many other companies still use it. The production of Palm is directly linked with deforestation and the destruction of orangutan habitat.

I now refuse to buy any foods that contain palm oil, and I'm looking at all my toiletries as well.
P.S. I don't actually like Lush stuff that much. The shop is way too 'perfumed'..0 -
'All of the glycerin used in Green People products comes from either coconut or palm oil and is guaranteed to be of non-animal origin.'
'...ingredients used in our products are all from natural sources and again biodegrade readily. Examples are emulsifiers obtained from olive oil and palm oil, and foaming agents from coconut oil and corn oil. As well as being readily biodegradable, these ingredients are also environmentally-friendly...'
So even the 'green' companies have different concepts of what is 'green'.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I don't like many of the Lush products but I have to admit I just love their Karma products. I use the soap and the body powder and have converted lots of my friends to it.:o0
