Lush...urghhh

As a contact lens wearer, the overpowering stench from Lush stores makes my eyes water when I walk past. Mind you the smell isn't as bad as the odious principles of the Lush owner, Mark Constantine. The man without a signature.0

I like the smell but I can see how it's a bit much (if I have the slightest headache I avoid it like the plague!) I go in there just to buy LUSH fanatic friends gifts. I've never bought anything for myself as I have sensitive skin and I'm quite sure it'd respond badly to LUSH stuff. The only product of theirs I considered 'natural' was the Dream Cream... but even then I only got a sample because I couldn't justify the expense!
Agreed that the staff are lovely though and seem to really enjoy working there. They're particularly good with me as I often go in just to smell stuff rather than buy0 -
My boyfriend goes to Lush once a year to get me a box for Christmas (the one with Snow Fairy in it) and he gets scared because all the girls flirt with him to try and make him buy more! I told him it his fault for being so good-looking0

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
An organic compound is one that contains carbon and hydrogen atoms. Like essential oils, alcohols, plant esters, crude oil, aspirin, deadly nightshade, egg sandwiches, butter, vinegar, pasta, pretty much most things on the planet.
Rather than trusting someone who is probably working there to fund their life outside A levels, perhaps, in these days of internet access, the OP should have considered looking up the ingredients lists online, rather than going into a shop uninformed and not reading the ingredients in the shop either.
No degree in organic chemistry required.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I don't mind lush, and I've got fairly sensitive skin. For example, the other day I left the heating on through the night and the next morning someone asked if I had chicken pox. Damn blotches were all over my face. Thankfully it cleared up within the day.
I did once try a hypoallergenic face mask from boots. Put it on, and within seconds my face was burning. I rinsed it off but my face had red blotches all over it. That was a crappy night out for New Year.
Can't say I've ever suffered like this with Lush products, although I only buy something a couple of times a year at most, so I'm not a big spender in there. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Not sure if this is what vikingaero is referring to but it's why I'd never buy anything from Lush.

I could read ingredients on the side of shampoo's soaps etc in either Lush or Boots and wouldn't really know what they do either. I think the OP's point was that Lush portrays itself as being natural and good for you and the sales assistants give lots of advice but it didn't work out for the OP on this occasion.0 -

That's one of the links Scotty.
I find it odious that Constantine donates to Plane Stupid, yet jets around the world to his Lush stores - I have money and/or power so do as I say and not as I do.
I sent Lush a few emails over this and his PA ended ignoring me rather than replying. The man without a signature.0 -

Thanks for the reasoned, intelligent post here - it may not have made my day entirely, but it has cheered me up some0
