I thought Sodium Laureth suphate was the chemical name for soap. It's certainly an organic compound..

Organic is not always safe -0 -
Finally. Natural my !!!!!. Second ingredient on lots of the stuff SLS?? A known skin irritant, cause of excema and a harsh chemical, or how about a good dose of parabens
Disgustingly I was even recommended certain products for my 4 year old daughter with v.sensitive skin and the product contained parabens, SLS & Lauryl Betaine
Hardly the image it portrays. My recommendation is to look elsewhere at companies like green people
Why don't you just make your own? I make all my own soap from scratch - I buy the oils, fragrance etc. It can be a bit daunting at first, but you could always start with melt and pour soap which is the easiest and safest way (search on ebay for the products). You could even get your 4 year old involved under supervision which would make it more fun.
Lush soaps are disgusting, full of rubbish, and they stink. If you make your own, it looks how you want it to, it smells how you want it to, it feels like you want etc0 -
I rarely go into Lush because the smell drives me mad and my throat goes all itchy. Some of their products look fab but it all comes down to clever layout in the shops and very clever packaging/marketing. You've only got to look in the grabbit forum to see how big the Lush threads get but I've come to the conclusion that a lot of it is just pure hype!0

I don't even like being near the shop, they stink so much. I also hate the way that they think that having soap in big rough-cut chunks means it's 'hand made' and natural.0

But "organic compound" means something totally different, it's - oh, don't worry.......0 -
They don't actually put tea tree oil in their tea treet products.
I don't understand why it's so expensive. Shouldn't so called natural products be cheaper?0 -

Tea tree oil usage in cosmetic products is restricted to 1%.
Natural products will cost more because the ingredients are often hard to extract and things like bad harvests will affect the price. Synthetic products however are easy to make in large quantities, so will be cheaper to produce.0 -
This thread has reminded me, I need to go down to Lush and get some new bath things.
Yes, I'm a Lush fag. I really like the smell of the place, though I seem to be in a minority. I once served someone at work who worked at the Lush factory, and he smelled lovely.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
