Mark Hill Hair sets bargain

  • thought i would give you a review of the ultimate product and i have to admit its not anything special....i tried doing the traditional method of shampooing and rinsing x2 before combing some generous conditioner through my hair and was disapointed that my usual 'pantene' size blob was not enough to get it to the ends and had to use more...compared to pantene its definately inferior in my opinion...and my hair is no shinier then normal though i didnt use the glossing spray so not too impressed with this so called bargain after all...no offense to the op but this deal turnt out too good to be true after all.

I have used mine and thought it was great. I usually use Tigi S Factor or Paul Mitchell moisture and thought it def on par with them. The Mark Hill has not got as a nice smell as the Tigi SFactor but nor has Paul Mitchell.

I thought the shampoo lathered up really well too.

My hair is def softer then usual but wasnt overly more shiny just using the shampoo and condition but i did later on spray with the gloss mist and that was brilliant and def does what it says on the packet. lol

I havent used the leave in conditioner on my hair yet but have on my daughter who has really curly hair that gets knotted over night and she def has less knots 2 mornings running after using the spray. Not completely knot free but def a improvement.

I think for the money it cost it is a definate bargain! You couldnt get a bottle of shampoo and conditioner of normal supermarket brands like Pantene / L'oreal etc for the price we paid for these sets :o

I hope the peeps who are missing the shampoo's get it sorted as i wouldnt be too happy having no shampoo either. I must of got lucky with my 3 sets tho as i received 2 bottles of shampoo in each :D Sorry to rub it in girls XXX

I contacted them through their eNote (email) system as I believed that the value of my goods came to £20 at a push (based on rrp of each product currently on sale at boots).
They said that each set would differ and the value of each set "could be up to a value of £25.

Surely this is misleading as the site clearly says each set will be worth £25?

Down the left hand side in the banner...You can choose any of the haircare gift sets on this page worth at least £25 for just £2.50.
  • it does say we will get 6 items somewhere doesn't it? Getting a bit worried that I'm just going to get miniatures now as mine aren't due till wednesday. Won't be too horrified if i get 6 minatures, will just use them for gifts not for me - but if I only get like 4 miniatures then I won't be impressed

It might be worth checking your Boots stores for the minis. If Mark hill products are being re-packaged, you might find the minis in the old packaging reduced by about 75% in the stores (I've picked up Trevor Sorbie minis for 39p in Boots, when the brand was repackaged in the autumn last year).

I would be gob smacked if they gave you all mini's in your sets. The minis though are really cute and look a good size. Will make great gifts in a gift bag or basket etc.. I am using mine for when i am way from home visiting relatives and holidays x

  • I'm really hoping I don't get all mini's but feel I should expect the worse, then anything better than that is a bonus when I open it on wednesdsy. Ilm definitely going to weig it before I open it, that way if it doesn't weigh 9.2kg and I open it and its full of minis I'll be asking for more stuff or a partial refund

I got my order this morning, I cancelled my ultimate sets yesterday and re ordered a mix of the blonde sets & colour sets hoping the mix would be better, I'm so glad I did as I'm very pleased with my what I have received.

    Here's what I got..

    3 Blonde packs each containing

    1 x shampoo (full size)
    1 x conditioner (full size)
    2 x gloss mist
    1 x straightening balm
    1 x shine spray

Next I opened this box (and thought the worst due to the conditioner with no shampoo!)

    1 Colour pack containing

    2 x conditioner (full size)
    2 x protection mist
    1 x shampoo (mini)
    1 x conditioner (mini)

then 3 Colour packs containing (luckily!)

    1 x shampoo (full size)
    2 x conditioner (full size)
    1 x protection mist
    1 x shampoo (mini)
    1 x conditioner (mini)

I am pleased with this, I can make up some lovely sets as presents, have a nice selection to keep and also have a few minis for travelling. I do have a few too many (extra) conditioners but as another poster said this can be used with any shampoo.

Fingers crossed for everyone else still waiting for theirs to arrive.

I am going for the oppisite approach....wait until it arrives, phonecall, if fobbed off then emailing customer services/complaints dept and any manager I can get hold of :p
Let us know what your reply is (if you get one :))

Just had my reply from my Enote, not much help, just informing me that they are looking into the situation and that they are sorry for any inconvenience caused in the meantime... Will keep everyone updated!
A glitch a day, keeps the doc away :)
  • My 2 replacement packs arrived today with - you guessed it - 2 big conditioners but no shampoo. But, I am not complaining as I have now have 4 gloss mists to use which are worth the money

If anyone in North Herts area wants a couple of big conditioners please let me know as I would rather someone got some use out of them instead of them hiding in a cupboard for 2 years!!
