    Work out why!

....I'm among the luckiest woman in the world, and even I acknowledge relationships need work, sometime so little i seems effortless, some times so much you have count to ten, ten times over. Sometimes the work feels...artificial. e.g. when DH and I started living a part...we were a very couply couple, we had to work out strategies. e.g. we try to be the last to speak to each other nd the first each day..this is natural living together..if one wakes for something in the night, so does the other....but if DH is working late and he thinks I;m a sleep.should he call me? I'd wake usually when he got into bed with me if we lived together, and I have ad an emergency night time vet trip recently without calling him, and gone to the hospital. Learning how to negotiate silly little things is not natural at first.

I will never come to terms with men balling up their BLACK socks and leaving them IN there underwear to destroy white/light washes.;)

Bless you, what a lovely post. Sorry for my post, I just get like this when OH and I argue (which happened earlier). I will give it some thought, don't want to waste the best years of my life with the wrong person and all that...

I put mine on as soon as I've washed, my face gets tight otherwise. I put body butter on straight after bath/shower too as it glides on better and you use less! This is still MSE after all :rotfl: :money:

Post shower ritual: hair (its very curly, it needs product IMMEADIATELY), first layer of skin care...e.g. toner, left to dry naturally, then body butter, a prescription ick, then rest of face, sitting down. Then handcream. sometimes feet. then, sometimes talc.:o:o

What age is your DS1? None of the boys at my school ever used aftershave!!! Or am I getting old, do all the kids wear it nowadays?

    QUOTE]

I work with teenagers, and yes, the boys generally do wear aftershave. Sometimes they also wear a heavy body spray & play football energetically all lunchtime, then sit in a stuffy classroom (warped window frames which don't open) next to the radiator (centrally controlled so if it's too hot, hard luck) and the result is .... especially when blended with the girls' perfumes etc
    Mostly, thank goodness, it's fine.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think I shall show DS1 this post tomorrow and ask him to go easy on the smellies and take pity on his teachers. Mind you, thinking about all those energetic hoodlums coming back into the class without the benefit of body spray is.............:eek::eek::eek:

You might like to buy yourself a face mask to keep the worst of it out;)

I agree :T My OH is just brill. Gawd I love him to bits and he's so funny lol.

I've not used anything up and I haven't bought anything. My Boots order will be here tomorrow though and the money hasn't gone from my bank yet so technically it's not bought... yet :o

My Chanel No5 fund is going slowly because now I'm saving for a new bike jacket :p Hopefully I'll get the money saved before the price goes back up, but I very much doubt it. At least it'll stop me buying toiletries for a while :T

It's hard reading what products you all like, it just makes me want to try them and I'm desperatley resisting the urge to spend. I do need a whole set of new makeup brushes because the ones I have are ancient. I've looked on ebay but the good ones are way out of my price range. I'm nearly tempted to buy a cheap set, which has to be a million times better than what I'm using atm

Still haven't painted my nails, I bit them all off instead. It was less hassle :o

I think on the outstanding products thread, they were liking the e.l.f make up brushes? Think they're pretty cheap too, can't bear to look at the website though!!!
Sorry thevicster but at least at 75p (with the special offer) that's a much better habit than some of the other brands!

Absolutely! I will be able to justify buying some when the time comes or Waitrose gets too near :D:D

No park but a path people use for dog walking. I should ebay, declutter, clean..it might be because I live alone that I keep going to the shops rather than sitting home alone. I've cut back to 1 visit a week to Boots. I don't know why I feel so compelled to visit at all when I'm not supposed to be buying anything.

Can you try to find something you really enjoy doing at home and train yourself not to think of it as "sitting home alone".

For instance, I am disabled and a parent: I am VERY seldom alone and so for me the idea of BEING at home alone actually sounds like quite a treat:o Indeed...........the idea of moving to some remote Scottish island with only the birds for company and no kids to be a pain.....................you get my drift;)

When I lived alone I actually liked it a lot:o Make yourself up a special seat, with a little table next to it for your tea, wine, fag, book and situated just perfectly for your favourite music to sound just spot on on the stereo...............NOT sitting home alone: enjoying some "me" time, and you can even sit there with a face pack on if you want without some berk having to keep making smart @rsed comments:rotfl:

thanks for the book offers girlies - RISI has come through with the goods this afternoon... YAY :T:j
    QUOTE]

Ooooh, hope you enjoy it! I always get rubbish swaps on RISI!

(Im getting really confused with this multi-quote thing......I don't know whether the vicster or chickywiggle said the above sentence and I'll never find it again now!!)

Have you had a look at the lists of people you've successfully swapped with before. Some of them will have similar tastes as you and more likely you'll find a good swap. I've got a few people I've swapped with a few times now. Stick a friendly little note in with the book or send a friendly message/question and it's quite easy to strike up a rapport meaning they'll often check out your list too.

My worst thing is to get a swap request for a great book from people who've obviously and indiscriminatingly listed the entire contents of their deceased parents bookshelves....masses and masses of dated and uninspiring stuff to search through all described as "yellowed and with brown age spots"

Always as soon as I get dry. I think warm moist skin is more receptive to the cream too.

Question: I have a shower gel I forgot to count. It only has a couple of showers left in it, but have been saving it as I know my mother likes it when she showers....should I just use it and bin it to get it out of the way?

Could you give her the bottle to use up? Or finish it but buy her a new full bottle as a present:)

I used to spend Saturdays in the city centre shopping but then I started working there... and now I see enough of the shops Monday-Friday I couldn't face them at weekends!!! Do something interesting - walking, going for coffees with friends, cooking, baking, poking around charity shops (technically still shopping but not the same as mass market retail hell), reading, going to the cinema, listing stuff on eBay etc etc.

I never shop on Saturdays, I like almost empty shops. I must copy+paste+keep that list.

I absolutely 100% need this shampoo and the entire skincare range :D Handily I don't have an Aldi close by :rotfl:

[To add to having an ear infection, I now have an eye infection . Just wondering if anyone can help me work out a way of taking my mascara off without making it worse???!

Now you're encouraging me to go on a trip to Aldi. Is that shampoo any good or does it just smell nice?

Re the eye infection--you need to remove the mascara so that the bits of mascara don't make it worse ad try to not wear eye make up tomorrow. Someone here said baby oil is good for removing mascara. Eye make up remover is usually fairly gentle anyway so it should be ok to use.

Talking of avoiding shops, I had to get myself away from the shops this lunchtime (yesterday!). I went to see my sis instead. So I think a lot of this is habbit. My splurge in Waitrose was a lot less than a trip in town! Keep the faith.

Thanks for the advice Mags, I have 3 days off work now so should be ok. I have no idea whether the shampoo is nice/works well, I just like the sound of it:rotfl:I'm sure someone on here must have already bought it so will hopefully review it for us :D
