As promised with my first post, a photo of my stash :p

Like I'd said before, I had a problem with getting far too many gift sets so I decided to start using the products one by one and managed to go through a few over the past couple years. I still haven't touched those Ted Baker sets as it's not my choice of scent, so I'll be looking to sell them soon.

One thing that's quite noticeable is the stash of hair colour :o

The only shade that I've ever been pleased with is L'Oreal Preference Recital Violet Black, and I've only ever found it in Boots and Tesco. What happens is that they stock it a while, then it goes on clearance, and that's when I make my move and clear the shelves ;) It seems to happen at least once a year, the latest bargain clearout was at Boots this week when they were £1.62 each :D

I haven't included any of the bits on the go and didn't know if it was all worth mentioning, but everything gets used regularly, honest :)

I hate how all the time you get a clinique bonus time or a No7 gift there is always a mini mascara in them (oh and in no7 case a mini handcream)

I like those, always use them.
The problem I have is there is always something new to try as well...which seems more exciting than the old product,

I've never understood how people can be so loyal to one brand. I'm constantly changing brands.
I scooped everything into bin bags and stuck them in a cupboard out of sight.

I've used this as an emergency clean up method too---don't look in the cupboard under the stairs:o

People on this thread (me included) seem to be making almost daily trips to the shops. It's literally what I do with my spare time, like a hobby. Anyone have any ideas on how to change this routine?

I have to admit to a purchase as well. I bought the Soap+Glory perfume. I paid with a voucher so no cash spent and with 1/3 off I just couldn't resist. Now I have a skinnie voucher which I will most likely use because those vouchers feel like gift vouchers. And I want to go to Aldi for cosmetics and ginger shampoo....

I thank god I don't. Though I like stuff, I'm not a shopper: I do do two grocery shops, one for me weekdays and one for us at weekends. and I go to the feed merchants once a week or so. If its through boredom, get a hobby. If its through too much time, volunteer your time. :)

I'm a big fan of the Cinnamon Trust...where you get to walk the dog of someone who can't...there by helping a dog, its owner and yourself (getting some exercise). I walk dogs for neighbours though.

For dh, the shopoholic, its harder because he is surrounded by shops in London....he has to avoid them, where as I have to go out of my way to get to them. Also, I find it hard to buy online and have no paypal account...so don't do ebay or similar When I do find it harder is when I need stuff, I get only a few hours to be away from home, so sometimes have to make two or three trips, often to different places, so that's when temptation/opportunity arises

I'm loving that picture lin.c Is the Elle McPhearson body butter really nice? It's on my wanted list:) I love the Jemma Kidd glosses. I have a few of those too (and lots of bodyform panty liners purchased specially to get the free lipglosses!)

I used to spend my entire weekends shopping. I'm not sure when I stopped, but somehow came to the realisation that it wasn't a good idea, I just end up buying things I don't need (mostly clothes) and never wore.

I would suggest, a long walk, reading, listening to music. De-cluttering and listing on Ebay (if you need to), I never seem to have time to read books these days, so that would be luxury to me. :) How much spare time are we talking about?

Lovely things, lin.c - nice and neat too :) And I spy one of my favourite shampoos... 80p was a bargain!
Thanks for that CL :) I've not tried the shampoo yet, though I am on my last pot of the Dove deep treatment conditioner which I do like, so when I saw the shampoo for 80p, I thought it's worth a try.

I didn't dare photograph the sanitary products, TMI

I'm still using the last bit of my Sanctuary Body Butter at the moment, then I've got a half-used bottle of Dove body lotion to finish off, so won't get to the Elle butter for some time yet, but I do like the smell of her products, so looking forward to it :)

I'm going to have to update my photo pretty soon, as it's my birthday tomorrow so no doubt more toiletries are on the cards - in fact I know I have some more Sanctuary stuff as I had to buy my own gift for DS to give to me ;)

I have managed to fill a whole toiletry bag up for my sis who is going on hols to spain on sunday-she did not have to buy a single thing everything was provided by myself.I have so many toiletry bags those who are/were bootsers will remember the glitches &reductions on berry bags, the natural collection bags, the ted baker bags, the soap&glory bags and the giant black clear bags which (can't remember the name-maybe ruby wax) but were big enough to hold 3 pairs of shoes but bootsers grabbed to store toiletries.
Anyway I have got rid of
    A large berry toiletries bag
sanctuary body wash and body lotion mini(from orange sanctuary bag-boots glitch)
4 sachets of hawaian tropics body butter, carrot oil, suncream(again free from boots last year)
smile toothpaste mini(from recent 50points offer
mini pantene shampoo &conditioner (came free with maxfactor gwp)
    Mini no7 bodywash(free gwp)
    Mini no7 mascara
couple of scahets of foot moisturiser(spare from boots gorgeous feet set)
    Love can tame the wildest
  • I've had Elle McPherson stuff before, it's ok but the FCUK is a nicer smell and nicer to use I think.

[QUOTE=topbargainhunter;29732927I_How much spare time are we talking about?[/QUOTE]

1-2 hours a day. Weekdays mostly. I spend weekends away from the city.
I live and work near a shopping centre. Going for a coffee and a walk round the shops has become a bit of a daily habit for me.

  • Are there any parks nearby where you could go for the walk without the temptation?
