right then ladies it's confesssion time:eek:
as predicted, when I went to the dentist(no fillings:j) I was pulled in to Boots by soem strage alien force and brainwashed into buying the dreaded "toiletries":mad::mad:

in my defence I did want a new blusher so headed to no 7 who had an offer on so had to spend £22 to get a goody bag.

it gets worse, I had some coupons so ended up spending £27.50 in order to use the extra 200 point one, also used a double point one and a 200 points for buying p&p hand cream.

ended up with the goody bag of things I will mostly use(can't understand the tube of mens eye gel tho!!!!)and 536 points on my card

plus G.C. fans look at page 83 of the jan/feb health and beauty magazine:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

DS1 is 14:o He has been into these sort of smellies for a couple of years now and so are most of his friends so it must be the wind of change:D.

Actually, I rather like it. I was expecting a war about getting them to wash, clean hair, etc., in their teens but both of mine are very fond of a wallow in the bath and love really nice smells:o[
    /QUOTE]

You are lucky, my seven year old ds1 and ds2 3yrs are both allergic to soap and put incredible effort into avoiding having a wash:D.

I have on my nails "Angel Nails" by Max Factor Nailfinity, very pretty glittery pale mauve, no top coat and have survived me cleaning the kitchen this morning, very impressive.

    See you later

    what else????????
  • Hello from a newbie - I've been reading this thread for ages now and thinking 'that sounds just like me' - my stash isn't enormous but I definitely have issues with toiletries. Like someone else said, I'm guilty of buying something new thinking it will change my life and make me a whole new person...

One of the things I'm enjoying most is seeing people's 'WIBA' comments. I'm trying to think this way about the things I'm using and remember which ones I genuinely like and which ones I just think I like, or think I should like!

Anyway I'll post a bit more on my progress and findings, but just wanted to say hi! You seem like a friendly lot, and some of you seem to be reading my mind!:)

    Welcome.

the wibas are useful, aren't they. The problem I have is there is always something new to try as well...which seems more exciting than the old product, or the great old products get discontinued (I'll never recover fro the discontinuation of John Freida Kelp help)

Was expecting a brand of toiletries I've not heard of that's a must have, then remembered the drooling over George a while back. :rotfl:

OK since I posted earlier I have now done a workout DVD and showered (it was not me I was referring to in my earlier post, honest!) and finished off a couple of products. Have finished a 35ml bottle of Elemis Frangipani Monoi Melt oil and a 200g tub of Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom body butter. WIBA? re: Elemis FMM - I have two more bottles in my stock pile but once these are finished/donated to sister maybe I wouldn't buy it again. It's too much of a faff. I have to stand it in boiling water to use it and was pretty miffed today when I went to all this faff only to have it run out when I had only applied it to my legs! Hence why I finished off the body butter again. WIBA? re: the body butter. Yes, I adore cherry blossom fragrance. This one was from Bath and Body Works in US and I have another in my stock pile as well as one from TBS.

I won't be buying for a while though (am guessing at least 6 months) as here's what I have:-

Opened and using at mo: Philosophy Amazing Grace body emulsion (large size), Elemis Lime and Ginger hand and body lotion (and also have one unopened), Jergens tube of body lotion (nearly finished I think).

Unopened (in addition to the items mentioned above):-
200g tub of TBS Moroccan Rose body lotion.

On top of all this though I have passed my awful hoarding habits onto my daughter (who is only 11) who opens a lotion and leaves it for months on end. Last time Ilooked she had a small tub of S&G Righteous butter, 2 x small bottles of Bath and Body Works body lotions (Christmas fragrances), a 200g tub of TBS Vanilla body butter (inherited from me as I didn't like the smell) and a Philosophy Snow body lotion.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

That sounds beautiful, I'd love it. How much was it?:o

DH and I do massage each other three times a week (Fri/sat/ sun). TBH I'm really lucky as he massages me much more than I him. :o
  • My girls just asked me what i want for Mothers Day i asked them for bird seed, think they know im being serious about clearing my stash now LOL

Oooh, there's a thought...what to ask for Mothers Day :D
    What's GC - George Clooney?

Sadly, my first thought was Grocery Challenge. I was wondering what fab offers were in the mag :o:o:o

I feel quite heartned in how far I've come since my LBM in Sept 2007. I stopped buying books, toiletries, cosmetics, etc. My problem is magazines! I feel that as I've given up so much, I need to have something. I get Good Food, Grow Your Own, The Week and Readers Digest all by subscription. I should really cancel one of them...I'll stick that on my list of things to do :D
