For the cheese, leek & mushroom one, Id do a basic white sauce with yeah, some cheese crumbled in- if you have a bit of gorgonzola that would be perfect. Otherwise any cheese would do I guess.
YUM:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...

Yes, I am drooling.
But I would have no compunction about re-freezing pastry - what poisons do people think they might get from it? IMHO there is nothing to 'go off'! :rolleyes:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I bought some frozen puff pastry ( I know tut tut tut) and have defrsoted it ready to make sausage rolls, vol au vents and cheese straws but I have way to much and it says not to freeze it again after its been defrosted.
Am I right in thinking I can cook it and then freeze it, so I can freeze some of my things that I have made?
Also I still Have loads left so what else can I do with it.........
I am on my third tray of sausage rolls and even at christmas you can only eat so many cheese straws and vol au vents.:p

I should think you could freeze some of the things you make ... much in the same way you would with a meat dish (which you can refreeze if you turn into into bolognese sauce etc.).
An expert on this sort of thing will be along shortly ...:DEnjoying an MSE OS life0 -
I'm making sausage rolls and cheese straws this afternoon too
Any leftover pastry I'm going to try these - http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/puffpastrytreats_1385.shtml sounds simple enough!
Or you could try these puff pastry biscuits if you're sick of savoury? http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/puffpastrybiscuits_72695.shtml0 -
I love mincepies made with puff pastry. If you have any mincemeat you could whip up a batch.0
