I second the pie idea - esp as you say you got trays and trays of chicken!
My fav at the moment is chick pie - with bacon pieces and mushrooms. I use stock with thickner (cornflour or granules). Kids love it - but it's not on the menu this week. Why? Couldn't get any puff pastry at a good price:rotfl:

roll out cut into squares and put mincemeat and/or mixed veg. filling on half of squares, fold other half over and !!!!! on top, cook in oven.
or just roll out and cut into fingers, brush with milk sprinkle a little sugar ontop.
and cook in oven.- lovely snack!

    pardon me!
did i use a rude word, that it seems to have been deleted.
it was not intentional, it is what i do with a fork when cooking pastries!!
    Nice to save.

I use it regularly in the winter for ( braising) steak and ale pie type thing

Another thing you can do is make a large slice pie type thing with mixed mediternean veg, or chicken & mushroom, sweetcorn, mush, onions, white sauce, roll out the pastry put the filling on one half fold the pastry over and press to seal. Glaze with egg or milk and pop a fwew small fork holes in the top. bake for about 30 mins on med oven DONE!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

A lovely way to use up puff pastry is roll it out spread thinly with tomato puree, add grated cheese and finely chopped onion, roll up (like a swiss roll) and slice then bake the individual pinwheels (like a savoury pizza).

    Enjoy.:D

P.S. Well done on the shopping - you must have got some brilliant bargains:T

Ooh, that reminds me - with the leftover bits of puff pastry I do a similar things to the pinwheels - but using cinnamon and sugar, and making almost a mini-danish pastry with them. They are gorgeous.

Grate some cheese and roll into the puff pastry and then cut into strips, twist slightly and bake in oven for Cheese Straws, kids love making them :)

Hi I've just made some beef and mushroom pies but over-estimated the amount of puff pastry I need and have defrosted 2 packs of the all butter Saxo puff pastry when I really only needed just over 1:rolleyes:

Anyone got any suggestions on how I can use it as I cant re-freeze it uncooked.
