Bake 2" squares of puff pastry. When cool split and sandwich together with jam and whipped cream.

Eccles cakes- roll out pastry cut into squares . Put currants with a little butter, sugar and cinnamon in centre of square then fold over edges and seal with egg or just milk. Turn over and roll flat. cut slits in top and glaze with milk and sprinkle with sugar.
I think that strictly speaking eccles cakes should be made with flaky pastry but they are ok with puff.

Sometimes when I have left over pastry I cut out pie tops to fit individual pie dishes . I bake them and then freeze. Then I fill individual pie dishes with hot steak and kidney or chicken in mushroom sauce . Top with the pastry tops and put in the oven for a few minutes.

My grandmother used to roll leftover pastry into squares, bake and keep in a tin. Then she'd serve them with stewed fruit -in her words "it saves putting the oven on for a pie"

    Mini pastry pizzas

We (my 4 yr old and I) cut the leftover pastry into circles and score a smaller circle in the middle. Spread a little tomato paste into the smaller circle, add dried basil and a cube of cheese and bake.

yesterday i did one of my best ever money saving food shops :D i got £106.53 worth of food for £23.16 from sainsburys:j by literally scouring the shop in the evening and picking up all their reduced food and bashed boxes and trays and trays of diced chicken most of it was 19p an item and then i used my saved nectar points on top, it will all definately get used and most of it is now languishing in my freezer the only thing i am unsure of is the pack of ready made puff pastry (10p:D )i have never really cooked with this before and i am hoping for some inspiration from you guys as to what to do with it???

Cut into squares as above, and put on some cheese and some raw onion, and cook - yummy cheese and onion pasties.

Have leftover chicken? Make a pie filling with the chicken and some condensed soup (mushroom or chicken flavour) add any (cooked) veg you like, put into a suitable over proof dish. Roll out pasty and put over the top, pressing down at the edges. Cook.

You could also do a mince pie or a vegetable pie (yummy with cheese sauce)

A quick and easy sweet treat - roll out the pastry, cut apples into wedges, and layer them over the pastry like (((((((((¦ Sprinkle over sugar to taste, cut into squares and bake. Yummy!
