Anguk what an awful situation to be thrown into - my heart goes out to you and your family. Personally I think I would want to be with him to the last if thats where it goes. I hope for a miracle and that you find the strength to make the best decision for you. Please keep us posted on his fight. x

JackieO your post brought me to tears. The way you write about your DH it is evident how much he was, and still is loved x

Just had to explain to my DH why I'm blubbing :o

NSD Obviously depending where DH is taking DS in Spain, but in some parts the language can be more English than Spanish, and for certain the attitude towards anyone with a problem is far more tolerant, understanding and accepting.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Well, busy day today: got lots done :j:j

Managed to get DH to do lots of little DIY jobs that have been hanging round for so long as part of my big declutter :T

So today we have (with the amount of time we, well I, have been waiting for it to be done!):
-accessorised our bathroom with towel holders and loo roll holder (2 months)
-hung a new curtain on the window, and OH put up one of those things that you can just hook the curtain behind (4 yrs)
-Put up a mirror and hung a multi-frame pic in our bedroom (5yrs)

Now you see why I'm so pleased?!:laugh::laugh: Ah well, at least it's all done now and the hubby won't be nagged for a while (he hopes!) :smileyhea

And I've also managed to get the whole house hoovered - carpets and cobwebs :A Oh and I used Stardrops for the first time - fabby stuff: mixed it in a spray bottle and it came out a treat in the bathroom.

All in all a good day, but now I'm absolutely shattered!!

Anguk - Enormous ((((HUGS)))) for you.

You must do what feels right to you.

I`ve sat and thought about what i would do in such a situation and have come to the conclusion that i would go to the hospital just in case he was aware of his surroundings and would know that i was there.

Everyone is different and i can understand how difficult this is for you.

Fingers crossed for a full recovery.

    Evening all

Anguk - hugs and lots of love to you and your family, we're all here for you so post whenever you need to. I don't think there's a right or wrong thing to do in your situation as lots of other people have said you must do what's right for you. Personally I have a real fear of "not being there" if ever my OH or either of my DS's were in hospital and needed me.

Very late posting today as been a very busy bee the last few days! Managed to get all washing, drying and ironing done up to date on Friday so just had what everyone had worn on Friday to wash and now the basket is half full again - how does that happen? Decided last night as tv choice was so bad that I would do my baking/cooking so made 2 dozen biscuits, 2 dozen cup cakes, 1 dozen jam tarts and a bakewell tart - should keep everyone quiet for a day or two! DS2 was supposed to play in a rugby match today but the game was cancelled as the ground is frozen and very slippy, so they went go-karting with their grandad and OH and I went to see some friends for coffee and had a ride to the beach and we had a walk and a bag of chips - why do chips always taste better at the seaside? The sun was lovely but the wind was very bitter but it blew the cobwebs away and we had a look in the shops that were open, managed to pick up a nice pair of trousers that haven't been worn for £4 - my friend has marked them and will alter them for me - bless her! I'm really useless at anything like that! Bought a pork loin joint on Friday to have today, but finished up having sandwiches/salad etc, so will have the roast pork tomorrow night with veggies etc.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Late again today, not very much done to-day, went to see OH's brother who has prostate cancer...he is on chemo in tablet form(?) but doesn't really want to talk too much...think that he knows too much about cancer treatment as he lost his 47yearold wife to lung cancer four years ago and has never really got over it, was glad I went as he is often lonely, his son spends some time with him but his daughter is in Australia.

Very cold here, lovely red sky to-night but don't fancy going anywhere early in the morning as our road is a side one which is really badly affected by frost...haven't been to a shop for more than two weeks so really need to go to-morrow.

Anguk...so sorry to hear about your husband's illness...I think that you should really do what your heart tells you to do about visiting, think about the good times if you do go, and talk to him about them.

Hugs to all who are in need or want of one or more, welcome to newbies, take care everyone and sleep well

I've just got back from an impromptu day out. I've skimmed the thread, but can't leave without saying my heart goes out to you Anguk ((( hugs)))) I pray that your DH will make it, but can only echo others that say there is no right or wrong way, just yours and his way. He knows you love him, you know you love him. Do what feels right. Whatever happens, have no regrets. I'll remember you, your DH, and family in my prayers tonight. God bless you all. xxx
