JamieT1977 you can block people that are sending you the messages, i think it is on your portal, but i believe you can also block reading peoples messages on here too, as someone has it on their signature.

But in regards to the twenty pounds room deal, I booked a room for my 21st a few years ago which was drastically less than what it should be, so I e-mailed the hotel and they refused to honour it. I would e-mail/phone them as they said if i had turned up on the day they would have charged me full price regardless, so i don't think they will honour it. I will add though that the prices on hotels in England are vastly more than what you will pay abroad, I got a twin for thirty-five per night, full heat, tv the lot and the room was of a good standard. I do wonder how much more they make over here on hotels

Yep, if you block someone they will be unable to send PM's to you.

I trust the PM's were nothing to do with this thread? I know we have disagreed but I can't see any need for nasty PM's?

Agreed. There's been no nastiness on this thread, despite the disagreements. In fact, we've managed to make a joke out of our disagreements. If anyone has sent nasty PMs to Jamie...shame on you.

Why would anyone be sending abusive PMs? There are some strange people about. As they say, 'please don't feed the trolls' - just block 'em and ignore em.

If you're still reading this, thanks for all your help Jamie. :T

    Had you pre-paid though?

My arguement is that TR and OP have a legally binding contract as money has changed hands at a agreed amount.
Yes TR have clauses in their T&C's

After reading online reviews I now doubt they even stick to them lol.
  • If you fail to get the promised price, then get your refund, and use laterooms.com (I use it for London if the ex-services hotel is full)

One example on the site.............(obviously you can only book a few days before your requested date, this is based on 3rd Feb a normally £300 odd room for £55

Something similar has just happened to me, I was looking for a holiday apartment in Portugal and found an apartment via budgetflyers tips on hotel.de. for 45 euro per night. I booked it at the slightly higher price as I didn't have to pay a deposit and could cancel a week before the holiday date!

The terms and cond stated that as soon as I received an email confirming the booking it was a legally binding agreement.

I received an email from the hotel stating that it was a mistake but they would honour the booking, but would I cancel as it was a mistake as it would result in "severe consequences for member of staff who made the mistake". To do so would have might the price would have increased by an extra two grand!

I replied stating the t&c where what attracted me to the booking and I enclosed screenshots of the apartment being advertised for the same dates for £620, as I was willing to pay more as long as I could keep the t&c, but never heard back from them, so I guess we are okay for the booking!
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

You still haven't actually backed up any of your 'argument' though. I'm beginning to wonder if you have tried to deflect attention away from this fact! ;)
