If they expect you to do their chasing, they have not fulfilled their contractual obligations. Therefore you do not owe them a penny. Tell them to go play with themselves.Cabot can now kiss my DONKEY. Statute barred is enough of a result, but the actions of the CABOT FAN CLUB have cost them far more than the paltry sums they were chasing us for. :beer:0 -
I had a call from them today - I had no idea what kind of claims they deal with until I read this thread. I just challenged where they got my number from and before I'd finished the last word they'd hung up on me. Needless to say I've registered my mobile with the TPS now as I'm sick of this type of call0

Just lodged a complaint with the Claims Management Regulator after receiving a few cold calls from these guys. Lets see what happens.
Could anyone tell me more about TPS?:A :A :A :A

I am currently being hounded with phone calls from Claims Advice Group in light of the recent judicial ruling. On answering the call I am informed that they believe me to be entitled to several £’000 from mis-sold PPI on loans I have taken out. When asked which loan they are referring to they are unable to answer, they are in fact touting for business blindly.
The name of this company (yes, I reiterate company – i.e. profit making concern) has an extremely misleading name, leading people to believe they are a government funded organisation.
I have informed them several times that I do not discuss my financial situation with those who phone up unexpectedly and whom I have no knowledge of but they still continue to harass me.
I have also indicated that I have never taken up the PPI option on any loan as it is frankly not worth the paper it is written on. This is a very important point … their answer to this has been that “it does not matter as the financial institutions where adding on the PPI into the repayment scheme without the customers knowledge, even though the PPI had been rejected by the customer (so you were paying for it even though you stated you did not want it). THIS IS A LIE, no financial institution added PPI onto the monthly repayment, PPI is always shown as a separate insurance amount. This line taken by Claims Advice Group proves, in my opinion, they will do ANYTHING to get you to say yes. This is a ‘no win, no fee’ company, therefore if it is shown that there are no grounds for claim (and you have chosen to advance a claim) or you choose not to continue with your claim after agreeing to claim – YOU WILL BE CHARGE FOR THEIR TIME.
When questioned about where they got my details from (as I am ex-directory and registered with the TPS) I am fed so many different lines that it has now become a bit of a joke. Oh, and just as an aside, if you try to call them back, guess what, no answer (shock horror).
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE A BUNCH OF CHARLATANS.0 -
TPS - Telephone Preferential Service, you can log your home number and mobile number with them - FOR FREE (there are other 'companies' [profit making organisations] who charge). Once your numbers are registered with the TPS, you should not receive any sales and marketing calls, if you do you should take the company details and contact the TPS with your complaints. This does not, however, and unfortunately, apply to overseas companies as they do not have to adhere to UK law as far as I am aware.
Unfortunately I am not allowed to post a link to TPS so:
mpsonline dot org dot uk forwardslash tps
However, if you give out your details to companies, they may well sell them onto other 'trusted' companies or partners, and these cannot obviously be covered by the TPS so be careful who you give your details to.0 -
I received a cold call from these pushy people and have received the welcome pack which I have just looked through very quickly. I thought I would check out moneysavingexpert and I am glad I have done so. This pack is going through the shredder and I will tell them why when they ring me tomorrow. Thank you all for your informative posts I think I will pursue this through FOS and keep any 39% myself.0

I am so glad I looked into this, I did think when I received the call that if it's to good to be true it usually is. I have had loans but have turned down the PPI and they told me I was still paying it through my APR. Thanks everybody.0

they told me I was still paying it through my APR.
ROFL. That is one I havent heard before. These telephone people will just say anything to get their commission.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). It's such a bonus that they do say any absolute rubbish though... it's because they sounded so suspect on the phone that I put them in Google and found this website, I wouldn't have known about all this otherwise.:www: Progress Report :www:
