  • They have been calling me on this number 01614781190. First time I asked where they got my number they hung up. Second time they didn't believe me that I'd never had a loan and said then asked me if I'd ever had a direct debit! I got too angry with them to find out how direct debits to utility companies had mis-sold PPI hidden in them.
  • So recently due to Student Finance England messing up my application I had to use my student CC to pay rent and buy food which unfortunately put me over my limit and I was charged for this. Once SFE had sorted my loan I repayed over half of it off immediately and the bank were happy. But today I recieved a call at my fathers home from someone at this company named Mark asking to speak to me personally. How would they get my contact info and is it worth speaking to them as I only went over by £50 on my CC.
  • I've made a huge mistake in my financial ignorance in these matters and signed forms with these charlatans, I had actually forgotton all about it as it was months ago but today I received a letter informing me that I now owe them £275.15 payable by 15/12/2011, they say they have been successful in reclaiming some £705.50 from a 'vendor' of mine. Now I have yet to receive any notification from this vendor of any payment or pay out. All I have is this letter from the claims advisory group. And I certainly do not have £275.15 burning a hole in my back pocket that I am falling over myself to send to them.

I was in a very vulnerable position financially when they called originally, I had just lost my job and was in turmoil, I absolutely regret allowing myself to be hoodwinked into empty promises at a time when I was susceptible to such things, I still at present am not in a sound financial state so I have no idea how I am expected to pay this 'Successful Service Fee' charge to them within 5 days, but I re-iterate, they have sent me this letter and it is all I have to inform me of any pay out, the vendor, as they call them has made no contact or sent no instruction of payment. I daresay they will just deduct it from any outstanding debt anyway and that leaves me with the bill from my own empty pockets. Why don't they take their fee directly from the vendor anyway?

SO my advice to anyone receiving calls from these people is do not proceed, hang up and come here, report them if they persist.

If anyone has any advice for me in light of my foolishness it would be much appreciated, As I said I do not have the money to pay these people and I've had no money sent to me regarding their 'work'

    Complain to these

Tell them what they have done and also that you have no communication or redress regarding this claim, yet they want money from you.

Have you ppi on this loan? this would be the only reason they would ask you to phone them, wait for them to phone you, find out what they want and then (if it is re ppi claiming) report them to MOJ.
Ask how they got your info.
If you have ppi on this loan and you have reasons for mis sell

Just do it your self, for the price of a stamp.
Hope i read your post correct! and that is what you meant.
  • Hi My husband did the same thing. He was told by Claims Advisory that he coud claim back his ppi and we now have to give the company 39 percent which is absoloutely wrong. All they did was fill out a form. They are very misleading and target vulnerable people. It takes a few minutes so its better to do it yourself.
  • The forms clearly state they take 39%. I dealt with CAG lasy year for some old loans the outcome being my loans got paid off and I had a sum left over that minused the 39% leaving me with 61% of the lump sum.I had no issues with CAG what so ever. I got the invoice from hem contacted them to say i would pay as soon as funds cleared and they was fine with this. the have since contacted me back this year about the ppi. I come home today to find im now in credit with my credit card as its all been paid off due to the claim and with whats in clredit for me ill just pay the 39% again. I know you can do this all yourself and get 100% of what your entitled to but i could not b bothered with all the hassle. and if CAG had not contacted me i probaly would not have bothered and would still be in debt.
  • I've recently used them but was told when I was just about to sign the documents that it was 10% charge. They were succesful in getting Lloyds to give me my PPI back but I was totally unaware of the 39% fee.

What are the chances of me having this fee reduced or will I have to pay them the extortionate 39%?
  • I kept getting missed calls from a number (more than once a day for over a week) I decided to google the number to see who it was and stumbled accross lots of forums saying that they were cold calling about PPI and had even hournded a young teenage girl!

I finally decided to take their call today. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I am very tired and grumpy and the relentless badgering of the call handler raised my heckles. I told her I had seen some serious complaints about them on line which she said she was unaware.
She explained the no-win no fee concept, which is fine, but said she couldn't tell me what loans or finance she was referring to, because of confidentiality reasons and asked me to TELL HER instead which people I had taken loans with so that she could 'confirm'.
I told her I didn't have any! She sounded very exaserbated and asked me to really think about occasions when I had taken out finance. Any finance madam, not just loans. She then reeled off my address (which I have only been in for a year) and insited that if that was my address, and I was who I was, then she knew that I had a claim but wasn't allowed to tell me.

I then told her that quite frankly I do not feel I had ever been mis-sold anything but thanked her for pointing out that I may have. I told her if i had, I would handle the claim myself. I thanked her again for alerting me to it but told her I had no need for her no-win-no-fee services.

    She sighed and hung up!

I love running rings around charlatans when i am tired and grumpy but imagine a person who doesn't have confidence and competence with finance?!?!? Total exploitation of the vulnerable.

As your data is not in the public domain then they dont have any info on you. They are cold calling you on the expectation that they will get enough people sign up. I have had cold calls from this company. My 10 year old daughter has had them on her mobile phone telling her she was mis-sold. They are just fishing.
