  • Spent £13.22 in A*da last night in milk, fruit, veg, crisps, biscuits and kitchen roll. Need to stay away from the supermarkets for rest of month as budget is starting to look a little tight. Other than fruit or veg I really shouldn't need anything...and in, all honesty, I could probably manage on veg that's in cupboard (tinned) or frozen. Just fruit it is then for rest of month!!

  • Popped to Mr S last night with the intention of just getting some bits and pieces for the guinea pigs and ended up spending £27.11  so I've spent £104.81 of my £200 budget. Did manage to get a few whoopsied items ( which is a first for me! ) a big bag of the bakery buns for 19p, tiger loaf 49p, lettuce and radish plant 25p, mixed veg bag 20p and some chocolate mini rolls for 75p.

OH came with me and as a result ended up buying a bottle of wine for £5.99 for him and 2 tubs of the extra special ice cream for £5 so £10.99 on those three items alone

I originally had planned to do a Mr T order to be delivered this weekend where I would have spent £50 - £60 but I won't need to now so I suppose in a round about way I've saved money :o
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

I was doing really well trying to make over spending at the beginning of the month and then my DD got nits for the first time :( so had to spend some out of the budget to get a lotion a nitty gritty comb. But I have figured out with a bit of clever planning I should have enough meat & fish in the freezer for the rest of the month so I should only need fresh stuff for the rest of the month - hopefully!!!

    Hi all

really annoyed with myself, did so well in January but I seem to have lost the plot altogether this month way of £100.00 and it is only the 9th !!!!

Still, March is another month and I still haven't spent anywhere near what I would have done before joining this challenge, and also don't need to spend anymore this month HOPEFULLY

    good luck all

Finally got round to adding up the Mr A order and have £48 to add to total.

I actually spent £78.49 but the rest was from the pets budget. Of the £48 only £17 was actually edible  though I now don't need toilet roll, dishwasher tabs or laundry liquid for about 3 months, if not more.

I do need to buy some more sandwich meat for work lunches for my DD as she won't take planned leftovers. I'm not so fussy and my lunches can be a real hotch potch of flavours. Yesterday I had Parsnip and Apple soup and a pasta salad. Least it didn't cost me anything extra :p

Going to have to increase this months budget to £150 from £120. Both OH and ds have been poorly so i've had to stock up on medicines, spent nearly £10 alone today getting olbas oil, infant suspension and paracetemol:eek:. I'm hoping i'll come in under this but we'll see.

Just updated my siggie...nearly half way through my month's budget, but have jam-packed freezer, fridge & cupboards, so should make it through to the end of the month within budget...hopefully!!

Next week taking DS2 to Leeds for 2-day rugby camp. At least we don't have to pay for the camp or the food that he will be eating for the two days (other than his snacks - he is diabetic). Taking packed lunch with me for the Monday, so will "only" have to find lunch for me on Tuesday (B&B already booked and paid for, having dinner there too). I have plenty of spag bol in the freezer so will get DH to take some out on Monday night for us to have when we get back on Tuesday...at least that is the plan!

So things could go belly up, but I am going to try hard to make sure they don't.

Also managed 5 NSDs including today, and hoping for another one at least this week. Have to pay for both cars' MOTS this week...and in the case of the Mini, a new handbrake....aaargh! So GC spending needs to be good to cushion the expected large bill!!

    Have a good day everyone.
