Well done Miecherox!!
You're a few steps ahead of me already - I don't do the whole chicken carcass into stock thing, as that grosses me out!
NSD for me today, thank goodness. Also, should be one tomorrow (famous last words!). I nearly went to the shops to have a mooch around, because I had another issue at work that annoyed me, but instead I went to a friend's house and had a cup of tea. Look at me, I'm growing!
Night all,

Miecherox Well done :T:T:T You are becoming a changed woman it's brilliant to read
I have decided to give shopping online a spin as I'm going on training course for 8 weeks starting Mon 22 Feb then hopefully I'll have a job too. I did my order last night with Asda and it's been delivered tomorrow morning so I'll just have to eek out the current supplies of biscuits etc until then :rotfl: I usually shop on a Wednesday and the kids were moaning last night already - I'll make a cake today to give them something after school/college.
Which board has the delivery discount codes on it please? I've never used it before obviously but if I can get if free now I'd like to :rotfl:0 -
First spend of the month for me, £43.71. Freezer is groaning, so much crammed in the shelf is bowing, so hopefully my overspend last month will even out this month. Plenty of potatoes as went to Adl* last week and got 3 bags of the 69p ones. OH dislikes pasta and rice so will be having potatoes every which way! No excuses for buying frozen chips this month.0

Morning all,
Just popping in to say hello, great to hear how everyone is getting on, well done Miecherox, you are sounding like a new woman!!! I made some chicken soup with stock from left over chook, but was a bit heavy handed with the barley, and it turned out like risotto! Never mind, I still managed to eat it (although others in household not so politely, declined). What was that I was saying bout learning curve......

Morning folks.
Today should be an NSD for me, but I'm a bit stressed at work, and i can see a co-op out of my window, so may need to go and get some choccy!
I have lost 6lbs in the last two weeks, so that's really good, but what's not so good is it's stress that's done it!
Still, I have got on top of all the food in my house now - sorted freezers last week, cupboard under the stairs on sunday, and now all that's left to sort is the bottom shelf of my pantry and the treats and snacks box on top of my fridge. Hoping that i won't have to buy anything much now - tons of meat in the freezer and mixes/herbs in the cupboard, so should be able to concoct something for the month! Meal plan changed as a result of the freezer sort!
I may be able to get some leftover milk and fruit from work - we have to throw it away when it gets to a certain date, but it's fine for me and my freezer! This will help, then i'll put any money left over into my camping holiday fund.
Have a good day all

I've been naughty again
I had to go past Homebargains & Netto to get to a DIY shop on Sunday so I decided to pop in and have a proper look without DD hanging off my arms or moaning about being hungry
Apart from a couple of bits for Xmas/Easter for DD I ended up spending £8.69 in HB and another £7.03 in Netto  Then I went to As*a/A*di last night for the weekly shop (I needed fresh fruit, cheese, yoghurt & tissues) and spent another £13.62 A*da & £3.07 in A*di
 BUT I also bought a stockpot, small baking tray which will fit in my freezer (for flash freezing
) and some resuable baking lining thing which I haven't included
So all in all that makes this months running total to be £87.54/£120 so I guess DD and I will be batch cooking next week to make some quick meals & snacks to try and see us through half-term and to the end of the month.
On the plus side, I was going to buy a piece of beef to do a roast for Sunday dinner as we rarely have them. I forgot to get one from A*da & I wasn't paying out what A*di wanted either. I asked DD this morning what meat she wanted for Sunday since I forgot to pick it up and she said "why don't we just use the chicken breasts that are in the freezer instead of buying something special?":money::j I think DD is getting the hang of this better than me:rotfl: :T
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Had my Tesco delivery yesterday - just about got it all in the freezer and pantry
Also ended up in the Co-op at final reductions time - got 4 Warburtons loaves for 16p each, and I will admit I spent about £3 on reduced pastries and croissants - which, whilst not on the plan or in the budget, I don't think is too bad for a treat, and they did pudding last night and breakfast this morning for 5, with a couple spare (which seeing as it's snowing here right now, I may well pinch to dip in some hot chocolate in a bit)
I have a small list (mostly bits that weren't delivered yesterday) for Friday when I next intend to shop, but that'll be less than £15, and it's all I can see us needing until the middle of next week.
Of course, next week is half term, so that could change things, but at least I'm going into the week ahead of budget, so there's some flexibility there if needed.
Total spend so far - £114.36DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Up to £131 of my £300 budget. Not too bad but I'm very low on supplies and will need to shop on friday.
Oh well,
BM0
