Well today should have been a NSD for me but a friend at work who keeps chickens brought me in some of her lovely FR eggs so that was 80p gone (sig updated). She only charges what it costs her to feed the chickens and they are lovely big eggs so good value and tasty!

We had chicken marengo for supper tonight. I haven't cooked it for ages and I had forgotton how simple it was and tasty too. DH has gone off for his choir rehearsal so I am having a bath and a bit of a pamper evening later! My back is killing me after lots of moving of books at work!

Big shop tomorrow, but as long as I keep under £40 I will be ok - fingers crossed! Catch up with you all tomorrow.

    Hi all. :)

Have updated my signature - sounds like I have spent a lot but with the A*bel & C*le deal and now I have £50.00 in my account so will buy their yummy meat and only need to use up my veggies and fruit as I have a lot now.

Sorry to hear about your cat Gillir 2000. Hope he feels better soon. Mine is a diabetic and I buy his special diet from an online Vet company. It works out a lot cheaper than from my actual Vet and they deliver too.

Glad to hear all of your news - keep up the good work. :D
  • Hi Lizziebabe,

Sorry about your cat! Do you have to do insulin injections too? Thanks for the tip...I was planning to do an internet search for an online shop...but I think I'll probably have to buy the first batch from the vet, otherwise my poor cat will be going hungry. What online shop do you use??

    Thanks again!

Oh...but I will need to buy special cat food tomorrow or Friday! It's bound to be expensive as well. My poor cat was rushed into surgery yesterday, as he had blocked urinary tubes. He will have to live on a special diet now. :(

But he is totally worth every penny, if it keeps him well.

Awww, sorry to hear that Gillir2000, hope he's doing OK now? Can sympathise with you as one of my girls suffers with chronic cystitis (although fingers crossed been OK for a long while now), although for male cats it can be a serious problem. I'm with you though, would pay any amount to make sure they're OK!!

The special food is expensive, but hopefully you will be able to get cheaper online as opposed to the vet's. Have a shop around.

  • Evening all,

had a spend on my dad today as its his birthday-my sister always gets the pressies as she is good at that and we go halves i just picked a CD and a lovely (whoopised:p) cake but not included in GC money.

However i did then go Mr A to get a (rubber)chicken as i wanted it today and hadnt defrosted one :o so i got from there

    giant chuck £4.72 whoopsied
4 pints whole milk 64p whoopised, now in freezer
4 x packets of batter mix 32p :o im looking forward to pancake day
frozen chopped garlic 64p- i usually get the Very Lazy garlic but dont like the white vineger stuff in it and this seems great so trying it
    cheese £2.03
milky way for a very grumpy dd 39p

    total £8.74 methinks

also got dd a new set of PJs at £5 but thats not in GC. Poor thing has a hole in the others or outgrowing them but i was waiting for her size to come in!

So i have cooked my giant chuck, as I am starting back on my Slimming World plan tommorow, and its Free Food, now i have settled in new job and know my meals breaks etc i can work with it and hopefully start losing weight again:T
So off for my tea which will be some of the just cooked chuck, garlic mushrooms and either sald or some leftover morrocan cous cous i nearly forgot about. Can't be bothered cooking anything else so that will do nicely

    Night all x

Hi everyone, I'm not brilliant (in fact I'm rubbish) at posting on this thread, between flying, nsd'in, saver pots etc. I'd end up spending my whole life.

Anyway, just to say - this months challenge was £125 for the month and I'm well in there at the moment.

Will menu plan for next week tomorrow and hopefully that will keep me going.

    Best to all xxx

    Hi Gillir 2000,
yes I have to give him insulin twice a day too! He is the best patient though and I don't mind at all. I also get the syringes/needles online. I'm not sure if I am allowed to post the name online so I will pm you if that is OK.

Need to go shopping for rabbit food and essentials sometime this week so it will probably be quite a big shop. Hoping to do a list and stick to it as much as possible, its the OH that causes the problems and i cant always carry all the shopping by myself. May sneakily do some on the way home from work that way we wont have so much room in the freezer. lol
