Thanks Lara, I think it has been confirmed as hormone levels have dropped a lot since weds, not gone up as they should have and doc said it was a 'failing pregnancy' she said nature will take its course and I'm to go in for a scan on 4th dec to check everything has come away. But that's all she said.
I asked over and over what to expect in the meantime but she just confused me, said I'll continue to bleed and get some pain but I have that now!
I guess I want to know how bad will the pain and bleeding get? I haven't passed the 'baby' yet as cervix is still shut. She was so unhelpful. I'm just sat at home now googling and still not getting any wiser.
It seems an awful long time to wait til 4th dec and I assume it will get bad before then.? I'll have a read back on this thread for some advice.0 -
Dusty star- sorry you're having to go through this at the moment. It varies so much from person to person so you won't find a single definitive answer as to what will happen. Some women get no pain at all, some manage the bleeding at home and some have to go to A&E if it gets very heavy. I would try to just take each day as it comes. But definitely get some time off work ( think up some excuse if you you don't want want to say) as apart from the physical symptoms you need to recover a bit emotionally and might just want to curl up in bed for a few days. :grouphug:0

Hi Dusty, I'm sorry to hear your news.
I think faith said it all above, it seems to be very different for everyone and depends on how far on you were etc. As you were around 5 weeks I hope it will just be like a heavy period for you, but if you are in anyway concerned or feel you can't copethen don't hesitate to go to A&E. the emotional bit is sometimes hardest so try not to bottle it up. Unfortunately it does vary so much we can't help much on that front.
My friend got to 6 weeks and she has horrendous pain & bleeding that went on for 3 weeks. Other ladies just get like a bad period.
If it does get bad please don't hesitate to get help.0 -
thanks all
i guess it is just the not knowing what is to come that is scaring me. i just imagine some horrific labour like scene taking place in the toilet at work!
I'm hoping that the scan next weds will leave me with options and if there's the option of the operation then I'll have that and get it over and done with.
I'm going to tell work today.....which I'm not looking forward too.0 -
I'll be honest my friend did have one day where she was in the bathroom for 3 hours.
I'd try to take time off work if you can.
I'm hoping you won't have it like that. You could ask your dr for some painkillers incase it got bad in the night & you can't access any, that's what someone on here advised me x0 -
oh no
- that scares the life out of me. Especially if I don't know when it will happen!
Guess I just have to ride it out and hope for the best, I guess cos I'm so early I'm hoping it won't be too severe0 -
I think it's a very different experience for everyone Dusty, so try not to worry. Claire's preparing you for the worst which is right because you need a back up plan and some flexibility at this horrible time. But I found it a bit easier to manage with just one painful afternoon. I hope that things will go as easily as possible for you. Big hugs xxx:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

Dusty, everything is so tiny at 5 weeks you will probably have passed baby (and a lot of the associated tissue) by now already. You arn't going to go into labour so please don't panic about that. It will most likely be a heavy period and as your hormone levels are already dropping it's unlikely you will need any intervention as your body is doing what it was supposed to.
Don't be a hero. If you need time off, take it, and especially if you are concerned about what to expect. Hopefully things will ease up soon. Take care.

thanks all, it's the wilderness I've been left in that is the worry.
So I was told on sunday that my hormone levels have dropped so all the signs indicate a 'failing pregnancy'. Now i have to wait until next weds for my scan which I guess will confirm it and decide any further action. I haven't passed anything 'big' but I'm not sure what I'm looking for anyway so it may have well already happened. Weird thing is I seem to have stopped bleeding. Does that mean it's all over? I've had heavier periods before now. OH wonders if they've made a mistake.....or maybe I'm a luck one......or maybe the worse is to come.
I'm not expecting answers, I appreciate everyone is different and until my scan next weds no-one knows what's happened or if I need anything further. It's all just so unknown, and scary!
You ladies are so strong and amazing...............thanks so so much for your support.0
