May I join? I have a wedding coming up (May) and some things before it...
Ideally want to lose 30lbs... or as close as i can get!
Already lost about 10lbs in 2 weeks.0 -
Hi everyone and welcome Kylie.
I weighed myself this morning and I´ve lost 3lb in a week. Last WI I had put on weight so I have only lost 1.9lb in total so far this month but I am pleased as my clothes feel looser.
I am doing the grocery shopping this evening after work. As a treat for OH on Valentine´s day, I am making him a banoffee pie but I will just have a small portion myself and then I will ask him if he thinks he will manage to eat the rest over the next few days and if not I will freeze some for him so I don´t have temptation in the fridge for days.0 -

I thought I was well ahead of schedule thinking I'd make the target late August / September, but towards the end the weight loss slowed down and my target was reached bang on mid October 2009.
I put on 4lbs over Christmas, so I've been on about 1700 calories a day since the start of January, which I hardly notice being different from "maintaining" and at last nights weigh in I was back to the 10st 4lbs target :T
6 weeks to loose 4lbs but I hardly noticed I was doing it.
Last year I was loosing at a rate of 4-8lbs a month except 1 plateaux month when I only lost 1lb.
So shift me from the "loosers" list and back onto the "mainters" list please0 -

Welcome aboard. The advice we find and most work to is 7lbs a month max. loss so it's reasonably comfortable, sustainable and safe.
10lbs in 2 weeks is quite fast!
Might be better to set June / July for your target weight but at this slower rate your going to look almost that slim by May anyway0 -
I agree with LIR, it looks way too little.
How do you manage never to feel hungry??
I think my biggest problem was what i ate and how much, i would have 2 - 4 slices of bread for breakfast. (if i left it too late rather than have my usual 2 i would feel so hungry i would eat 4 as in my mind i needed the 'extra' food)
then lunch would be 2 slices of bread with ham, and a packet of crisps, snacks would be the kids leftovers and some chocolate stolen from the pantry
dinner would be something with potatoes, either boiled or jacket. and some bread to mop up with if i was feeling extra hungry
Its no wonder im so overweight, when i think of some of the treats i used to give myself (cornflakes with double cream for breakfast ) i feel sick !! I have now cut bread and crisps out totally and its made me feel less sluggish.
now i find if im getting hungry i will have a glass of water/juice go off and busy myself with something and if ten minutes later im still a bit empty i will have 1-2 pieces of something. ryvita, snack a jack etc. and let that settle before i return for more food.
yesterdays caloriecount was only 680 and i felt like i had eaten loadsso im going to have to force myself to eat some more during the day. I really want to change my weight for good this time round so i have to find a better balance !
