Discussion thread about Tesco voucher acceptance

I never normally have any problems at Tesco's - I only ever hand over a couple of coupons at a time, but last time I went the checkout guy refused to accept my coupons as i hadn't bought the product.
To be honest Tesco's is a bit out of the way for me, it means a trip into town - 7 miles away, whereas I have both a Morrisons and a Sainsburys within a mile of my house, and one of the only reasons I go there (apart from the buzz of r&r hunting) is because I can use my coupons.
It's such a pain that they don't just all stick to the same policy so we know where we stand.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
You are all so lucky my local Tesco will not accept internet vouchers as they say they are photocopied.
Mind you they may have changed their mind again now.
Where do you all get so many vouchers from, would love to know and try and cut down how much shopping costs me.0 -
Ive stopped using self scan as they pounch on every voucher and has to be authorised :-(0

hi.. princes kate i am in south wales as well and i had a great run on voucher use in my tescos....one time i managed to get it to nothing... but just a little word of caution....my tescos said to me then that they would only except 10% as people were using vouchers they could not claim back on.....even though ever since i have had more than 10% off my shopping....so if you do use somerfield or asda.. vouchers... dont use to many or even none at all if you can otherwise the manager might get a bit peed off.....thats what happened in my store......
but its a great feeling... very addictive............pm me to tell me where you are from.....:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
This is a copy of a reply I received from HO regarding the acceptance of coupons.
"With regard to our policy for the acceptance of branded coupons. We will accept 1 branded coupon per individual product without the purchase of the product. Should you have 2 coupons for the same product, then at least one purchase of the product would be required.
With regard to the stores discretion surrounding the acceptance of branded coupons. Most stores that use their own discretion generally will not accept any more than between 3 and 5 branded coupons without a purchase. However please note this will differ from store to store."
So basically no hard and fast rules! If you get to thinkin' you're a person of some influence, try orderin' someone else's dog around!0 -

Depending on which way the wind is blowing, and whether there is an R in the month - NO.
First month I ever started using coupons both Tesco and Asda would accept anything and everything I could cut out. It didn't matter what product, or what store was on the coupon.
Now I have days when they won't even accept ONE coupon on a shop when I have actually brought the dam**ed product - because it is more than 10% of the shop:mad: Explain the logic of that because I AM USING IT ACCORDING TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
Until a couple of days ago, I had always been able to get Sainsburys coupons acepted at Tescos, they even used to have big posters up outside the store advertising the fact. But I have even been refused those now !
As a lot of posters have found there is no consistancy at all, it is simply down to luck of the draw.
I had a VERY NICE sa a couple of weeks ago who asked "Have you got any more" when I modestly offered a couple of coupons. Ended up with several pounds being knocked off the bill - unfortunately havn't managed to see her since, so it's back to hit and miss.
One day I get told I have to have bought the product, the next "we only take 10%", the next they accept half a dozen without even a blink !
Just have to be stoic and keep positive;)0 -
I just keep going back to what Welsh Dragon keeps saying that coupons are a bonus, not a right. That way any money I save is a postive, rather than a negative experience if I don't save any. There is no need to run outside

Too true Rambler but it's really gutting when the vouchers are not accepted and they are due to expire the next day or when OH whinges about the amount spent in tescos in one shop because my vouchers were refused.
Welshy xI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL
