Discussion thread about Tesco voucher acceptance

Hello me again ! - received a letter yesterday from the top brass at Tescos. Basically, it re-confirmed the Tesco policy and apologised for the supervisor's behaviour. It said that the matter had been dealt with but they could not go into details and if I had any future problems to ask for the manager directly.
They did not send me gift vouchers like surfsister mentioned receiving but then I didn't complain expecting to receive any.
It does still however, give me butterflies when I enter the store and now I must admit I don't tend to visit there but hey ho it's their loss and another branches gain to get my £120+ business a week.

At the self scans in Leicester stores the limit seems to be 10%. After that the machine will lock up and call an assistand to authorise it. I assume that they are more likelt to authorise it when you have actually bought the products. Sometimes they just key in the numbers and walk off. Once i was told i had reached my limit and cannot used anymore (althought for most of them i HAD bought the items).
Recently i was outright rejected a manufacturer 20p coupon on my £30 shop by a jobsworth. "We have stopped accepting coupons unless you buy the product". Not true though - she was just a biatch. I know as she told me I hadn't bought the product without even looking at the voucher properly or checking the recipt! They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Well I just had an unexpected amazing time in Tesco!! :j
I'd received a till spit for £2 off a £20 shop so split my shop into 2, one for around £20 & the rest together. Usual voucher acceptance in this store is 1 of each up to around 6 per shop, althought 2 of each was accepted the other day. Anyway, tonight I was chatting to the girl & checked "It's ok to use some vouchers if I havent bought them isnt it?" She was perfectly ok with this, handed over the usual... a world books voucher, the 30p 1 from asda mag last month etc aswell as my till spit. She then says, have you got any more? I can scan as many as you want...... I can only imagine how excited I must have looked!!! :T Had a pile of world book vouchers with me aswell as the drinks vouchers from the somerfield mag!
In total my 1st shop totalled to £21.93 after all the coupons was £4.23!!!!!! £17.70 off in coupons!!!!!
My 2nd shop totalled £11.34 after coupons £2.34!!!!!! £9 off in coupons!!!
Total £26.70 off a £33.27 shop!!! :j :T I thought it was christmas!
I havent been doin this long but know I have saved so much due to coupon usage, my 1 R&R I actually managed to get so far aswell as mag subscriptions, just wanted to take this (excited) oppertunity to thank all MSNers who take the time to post & help us all out! After all every little helps!!! :T

wow princess kate thats really lucky, at my local tesco i ended arguing over them accepting a 1 pound coupon for an item i'd actually bought. For thousands of people this Christmas, their must-have gift is far more vital than the latest gadget or toy – it’s blood. Please don’t let the festivities and cold weather prevent you from giving them the ultimate gift… give blood.0

I know, very lucky and very exciting!! I dont expect it to happen again but I will be looking out for that lovely SA again!!
I really do wish Tesco would sort it out & decide on 1 rule & stick to it in all of there stores. Nothing worse than coupons being refused with a queue of people watching & tutting!! Although if they were all like the girl 1 had tonight their profits may begin to slip a little!!
As far as coupons when you've actually bought the item.....sometimes I think the SA's think the money is actually coming out of their pocket!!

Does anyone know the email address to email Tesco about a complaint? I had a bit of an experience in a store today and looked on their website but can't seem to find one to write too.
