I love that, you're right i'm not a rehab centre. I always judged heroin addicts as dirty thieving disease riddled lying scumbags. He was the last person i'd expect to have a dodgy past like that. And if anything it just shows that it can be anyone, and you wouldn't know it.
I don't know anything about it, when i found out he had the past i quizzed him about it because i was interested. But i didn't realise that once you're an addict it's with you for life no matter how long you stay clean. 9 years was a long time, to throw it all away again.
I can honestly say i wouldn't have touched him with a bargepole if i knew there was a chance he'd go back on it. He was so far from my stereotype that i just never would have guessed. Daddy's a smackhead - lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Beenie, having no father figure has got to be better than learning from that twerp. (I'm running out of names that the filter won't block, believe me I am thinking up lots of bad ones).
DS will grow into a good, kind, thoughtful person because that is what you are. You don't need to be a man to do that. And who knows you might meet someone one day who will show him the way but if you don't then he will still be fine.
Am confused by the drug thing. I'm sure I have easy access to drugs in my town but I don't go and get them. And before anyone comments on the addiction side of it, I managed to not give in to the temptation of cigarettes and they are available every time I go to a shop.
It is called being a parent, and wanting to do your very best for your children. He needs to grow up, get a spine and take responsibility for his actions. Until he does I wouldn't worry that you are missing out on anything, it really does sound like he's done you a favour.
I'll shut up now. As you were.

Beenie, you don't need a father to know how to be a decent bloke.
Does he go to any clubs like cubs/scouts, football team, karate? those are great places where he could have a healthy male influence and bonus of learning some great skills :cool:0 -
Adopt a grandad?? Lol can you do that?! That's so cool.
Harley don't shut up please
It confuses me too, but that's the best excuse he can give for being a *swear filter overload*. He is from a small village where there's nothing to do so it would appear they all just got off their faces instead!!! All his childhood friends are the same apparently. He has a couple of 'normal' friends and always promised me he was with them and not the junkies. Before i had Cam i took a few recreational drugs on the occasional weekend but jesus so has everyone i know IRL, he took it too far and ruined his life!
And because he stayed clean with his ex wife, it's all my fault of course
Sami - i'm getting him signed up to Beavers as soon as i can track down the scout leader, i've messaged them loads but my lovely HV said she'd ask the Surestart man to get someone to get in touch with me. I told her i was scared to sign him up in case they made me go on camping trips but she assured me they won't... lol!!0 -
Beenie - remember what Weezl said yesterday about people projecting their feelings onto others; He is blaming you because it's easier to say Beenie made me than to admit to himself he was is a willyhead who stuffed up!
Also he's the type to control and blaming you is a good tool for doing this, controlling partners systematically wear you down so you are dependant on them for everything, don't let him do that to you xx0 -
Beenie, you don't need him in your life. That's the most simple way of putting it, and something that it would be good to keep repeating. He doesn't deserve a second chance - boogering off to Turkey to think?! Taking drugs? Spending his whole salary on crap instead of looking after his newborn?
Your son will learn from you that strong women look out for their kids and teach them to be good people. You don't need a penis to teach him that.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

We've always had runny egg. You can't have dippy egg if it's not runny. Ooops!
:rotfl:@ Beenie, it's the kids that go camping not the parents!0
