He was with me for the monitoring between 3am and 4am and moaning 'This better not be a false alarm' (bearing in mind I was contracting from 1am but left him in bed while I had a shower and packed my bag). He got sent home around 4.30am (I think) to 'get some sleep'. I called him at 6.20am screaming 'The baby's coming, get back here now' To which he replied '!!!!!!, I've only just got back to sleep' He turned up at 7.10am (cos he washed his hair before he left ) Did the necessary hand holding, back rubbing & giving me sips of water and Jack was born at 8.17am.
:eek::eek::eek:
OMG Glam - how did you not kill him!!!
He sounds like he couldn't be arsed to be there at all!!

How do you feel about being alone?
OH dropped me off for monitoring, then I had to phone him to drop off my bag when they made me stay. They got everything started at 9am, then I had the epidural around 12pm. OH arrived some time around 2 or 3pm I think, so I laboured half alone.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

I just think that at first he thought it wasn't really happening because I was 3 weeks early, then the MW sent him home saying it would be 'hours yet love, you go home and get some rest you'll need it'
Then he gets me ringing him screaming down the phone to hurry up (I knew the MW's wouldn't rely the urgency so rang myself).
He was faffing with his hair at 2.30am debating whether it needed washing or not, his hair does get very greasy once he's slept on it - I didn't want a greaseball in the photos! I purposely didn't wet my hair when I had a shower at 1am because I wanted it to look nice for the photos! :rotfl:
First thing I did when I got on the ward at 4.30am was have a bath and dunk my head straight under!
Right, Jack down for a nap finished my toasted hot x buns so off to do some of my list!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I was OK about the first bit. TBH From 1am til 5.30am I was contracting irregularly say every 7 minutes but not lasting a full minute and managed with some paracetamol, it was only from 5.30am to 6.20am that they got more intense and more frequent but I was dropping off between each one. It was only because I heard the assistants filling up the water jugs during one contraction and then dishing them out during another that I thought I better time them - 3 minutes!
I was pretty scared when they rushed me up to the delivery suite - the MW was literally running down the corridor pushing me in a wheelchair. Then got really scared when the MW left me at 7am to change shift and the moron that came in to watch the monitor said 'Oh, there's a problem with baby's heartbeat, I'll be right back' and left me on my own! Cue lots of tears and OH walking through the door to me crying 'There's a problem with the baby' - when new MW came in she quickly reassured me but for that time from being examined at 6.20am til just gone 7am I have never felt so alone and scaredA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

OMG! I think J won't be long until he's crawling - he lifts his chest right up off the floor and can move his legs in a crawling motion but hasn't got the coordination yet.
I must go although I can't be arsedA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I must go although I can't be arsed
I can't be arsed either but my mother coming today.
I don't think Kieren will be a early crawler, hes all about the brain and not about the movement. He can take his dummy out and put it back in the right way and stuff like that. Good with his hands and can roll front to back but thats his lot!0 -
does your pool not have a creche?
our local one does from 6 months old'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

That does sound scary. Although OH wasn't there, I did have (at least) two midwives with me all the time. Feel guilty that I hogged so many people!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
