Ooh Boo your pram talk has reminded me, I've been meaning to ask for a while now - does anyone know of a cheap, bog standard umbrella fold buggy that lies flat? Now we arent using the car seat that goes with ours I want to get a little one that doesnt take up all the room in my boot and my living room, but it needs to lie flat so he can sleep in it while we're out. I'm not bothered how it runs, I dont really do a lot of walking!

    hiya,

In all the interesting debates of earlier, I forgot to share an important bit of fergie news.

The Dr has referred him to a paediatrician about his constipation.

We thought this was probable given the surgery have called us in a few times to check him rather than just giving repeat scripts of lactulose.

They have done this because he is at the top end of the allowable max dose for an infant.

In my head the referral is a good thing and glad he is going to be checked out as to why his gut is sluggish.

In my heart I am worried about him and paediatrician is somehow more scary than popping along to see the GP.

Apologies to all who already know what it feels like to have specialist Doctors on the case with their little ones, I know this is small by comparison :)

Thanks all for your supportive comments about my BF experiences and thanks for such an interesting debate.

One question outstanding then... Feelie you asked what I (or others) would have needed to carry on with BF. My answer is basically nipples like Aless's :rotfl:.

I asked a few Dr friends and also PMd Kristal to see if I could have this 'done' surgically before giving birth so that I could feed Kester.

My brother who is a GP said that if I had asked that as his patient there was no way he would be able to justify sending me for surgery (to remove sensation to my nipples), based on the risk to me vs perceivable benefits.

He is pro BF and a very well read Dr so I took it that I was unlikely to get anywhere with that.

I haven't told you guys this before but I soaked my boobs in warm salty water each day for a month before fergie came. I'd read that it toughens up the skin of the feet of long-distance walkers, so I thought it might be worth a try. But alas no joy there!

Sami there was a lot of cheese actually, but he loves cheese toasties? I think it may have been the base tbh as he seems to have 'gone off' bread a bit!!

I am still so torn between a few doubles!!!
