Hmmm in a totally off topic post, I wonder if M&S will be doing a dine in for £10 deal over valentines? I wouldn't mind making a nice dinner, and this would make it a bit easier... also might see if I can get to the shop I was at during the weekend which is doing valentines chocolate 'coins' - first time I've ever seen them :)

Is it bad to admit that I've been a teeny tiny bit jealous of the ladies recently who have been pregnancy testing (or almost?) As Elena is getting bigger, I keep thinking how much I'd love another bubs, but know I'm better off waiting for a while: have read lots of info on how its better the longer you leave yourself to heal after a section, and recommend 18 months to 2 years.

Feelie - I love seeing you so upbeat :D I hope you are pregnant if you want to be :)

Weezle - hope you're feeling a bit better today!

Hello Three! Hope you and Aiden are doing well. If you are interested in a Scottish meet up, pm Scruffy and tell her where you are. She was trying to arrange something for next month maybe. We were thinking Edinburgh as it was central to most or easy to get to.
Will try to remember to do this late (although i may need reminded) I have progressed from PG brain to baby Brain quickly.

MW has been, first time she's been before 12, Aiden is now back to his exact birth weight:j must have been his mamoth eating session last night.

Good luck with OH BOO, i'm sure he will understand and like weezle says distract him with food and he may not notice lol

Off to get some shopping then to show off Aiden, hope everyone has a good productive day and those that are sick mend well,

    Be back later,

GISI - The baby massage one i will definitely go to. But only because the HV said it'll be everyone's first time going, so it'll feel less like walking into an established clique iyswim?
But she said i'll get an invite when Amber is 3/4 months old, so not yet.

Fitzio, yes please do :o I was going to ask HV to reassure me today and then maybe she'd speak to whoever was there on the day to help me fit in, but she cancelled on me today so not sure when i'll see her.

csh - i was earwigging the HV's and they were saying how amazingly quiet it was when i was there, compared to the time before. It was quiet, there was about 5 others there but they were all in the sensory room chucking out the alien glares at me :o It was like they all stopped talking when i was wandering around with Amber, pretending to read posters on the wall etc. I walked in and smiled and they kinda stopped, looked at me like a freak, and then pretended i wasn't there. Bints eh.

Boo - i have a feeling mine would be like that, and i think you're right about the structure, that would be loads better for me, i'd not thought of it like that.

Aless, i want to borrow your DH for getting baby to sleep duties. :D

I definitely want a seahorse, she stops grunting while the glow worm is on, which plays for all of 10 seconds. 5 minutes would be heavenly.

In this study, the cut off for 'real' HG was weight loss of 5% or more due to nausea and vomiting. Sometimes there was also ketosis (ketones in the urine)
I had almost 10% and was off the scale for ketones when I was admitted to hospital. (Despite not being bad enough to be admitted according to the out of hours doctor 12 hours earlier.)

Basically it was pretty bad and I want to minimise the chances of it happening again and if it does occur, minimise its impact especially given that I was unable to look after myself and I would have Alice to look after.

Maybe that's why Alice keeps telling me she needs to go to Germany.
Susan, it sounds awful. I'm so sorry :(

Alice is welcome to come and visit us (assuming she brings her lovely parents with her). We live close to an awesome museum, too.

    I hate them too!

I think I was one, for a bit. I only threw up twice, although I felt nauseous up till 13-14 weeks, and up till 25 weeks I glowed and looked wonderful. The Saturday night of my 25th week I spent the night in a hospital chair beside my grandmother and my feet swelled up and never went back down again, and from there it was all a bit downhill. But there were 11 weeks where I've never felt and looked healthier.

I've a friend who's 30 weeks pregnant with twins. She hasn't been sick, gained weight only on the bump and is glowing and looking wonderful. If I didn't like her I'd hate her :)
Talking of which, I told my Mum how good I am and she asked if I was pregnant again! That was the last time I felt like this :-D I'd be at least 12 weeks now, so perhaps I'll do one final test.
    I'm so glad you're so happy :A

Boo, I'd just switch the prams and not tell him, and when he asks stare blankly and ask if he has pregnant brain :rotfl:

I hate groups too, they're either cliquey or filled with women I don't want to talk to. I've met competitive women, women who seem to be using their babies as a cuddle toy/pet*, women who have no interest in anything and will only talk about their babies... *shudders*

Squishy, I did a lot of reading on post-C-section conception, and the risks after the first six months are barely higher than for women who've had vaginal deliveries. The rate for uterine rupture goes from 4 in 100 000 to 5, or something much like that. I'll see if I can find the study again.

*Speaking of which, what's the perspective of you lovely people on early ear piercing? A friend of mine is wild to pierce her baby's ears and says she'll get it done around 4-6 months. I was a bit  but wondered if I was wrong to be so judgemental?

I feel a bit jealous too but I am convinced that for me it is best to have a larger gap. Aside from potential HG, there are no antihistamines to my knowledge which are considered safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding which wouldn't be so bad in the winter but in the summer it would be unbearable.

hiya squishy, I agree that the research says 18 months plus is better. I guess for me what swang it in the other direction (don't worry I know you weren't referring to my situation at all:A, i just thought I'd say a bit more about the other research out there! In case it's of use)was:

I knew that I ideally wanted 3 children and wanted to reduce the risks to each of their health by trying to be less than 40ish if I could.

I knew that by working out what was dangerous about close together pregnancies I could offset any risks before hand (iron asnd folate increase, getting BMI back down to 21.5 before conceiving again, daily vitamins, lots of protein.) I was also exercising again before conceiving.

All of this makes me feel more confident about going for it again with a short gap, based on what I've read.

If this is no interest, please ignore, but I've looked into it a lot and if you'd like any more info about the risks of short gaps or how to offset them then I'd be more than willing to say more :)

Hi 32B, congratulations on the birth of Aiden :j

Now you mention it, I think I do remember that! Hmm, is it worth it just to get the flower, or should I just make my own meal.....depends on what they're offering I guess.
