Have a nice afternoon MOTM :)
  • I hate babies having pierced ears too.

My mum always said i could have mine done in 6-week hols between primary & secondary school (so when i was 11), cos we weren't allowed earrings at primary school and the 6 weeks was enough time for them to heal so could take them out for PE lessons when started at secondary school. I reckon that was about right and think i'll be the same.

I know my nieces were allowed earrings at primary school & they had theirs done when they were 9 or 10 which is ok.

My mum got my ears pierced at 9 months  She made my step gran go in with me to get it done though as she "can't watch that" Oh but it's okay to stab a needle in my ears. Anyhow, I didn't even cry, but I did when they got the piercing gun stuck in 1 of my ears, hence one hole is lower than the other!!

OH's mum said I should get Keira's done but I said no, where she is from, most of the little girls have their ears pierced, and Keira has a reletive the same age who has hers done and I must admit, it does look very pretty on her, but it's not something I'd do for Keira.

If she is 10 and wants them done then fairy muff, as long as she doesn't get one of those gross big ear piercings that are IN right now, you know where they stretch their ear hole out? GROSS. I'd make her fill that hole right up with glue :D

Buttons those piercings are GROSS! My cousin got the start of one, but I showed him my stretched tattoo on my saggy belly and said imagine when you're looking for work when you finish college, and you have to take it out and your ear lobe is sagging all over the place, and he took it out :rotfl:

BTW technical term is tunnel ;) I'm SO down with the kids!

Interestingly I've just read an article suggesting a possible link between lack of vitamin B6 and HG which possibly may have alink with the liver function thing?

I've just read a fantastic breastfeeding summary and want to put it here. I think I'll pimp it on the pregnancy thread as well.
The last line reminds me of what OH said to me when Alice was little - he said, "Breast is best but formula isn't poison."

Also, a N.E meet was mentioned, i was meant to ask the preggy ladies but i don't think i ever checked for a response.. LOL. I'm useless. But angela, becles and Susan are local, and kindof said after the baby is born (obv) and Cafcgirl is near me
I was meaning to ask where people think would be a good place to meet up? This time of year it needs to be indoors really so I wondered about the Metrocentre but wasn't sure if that might be a bit far from Darlington?

  • Hello all :D

Hope you are all well xx

Since I have only read a few pages, the conversation seems to be mainly

sickness in preg - I wasnt sick, but had constant nausia from 2months till just before 8 months which can be horrid on its own :(

ear piercings - I was 2 when mine were done, but only as my sis was getting hers done for her 5th birthday and mum thought she may aswell do mine too, I now have 7 piercings in my ears, but never wear any !! Anywho, no I think babies should be babies and not mini chavs. Jas is 7 and asks all the time, and I have told her she can get them done for her 10th bday !!

The snip - I want chris to have one as I have had 2 kids while on the pill .... and I really dont want anymore .. he on the other hand wants to be able to have another with whomever if we ever split up !! (I feel I must add that this was said in jest :))
The two best things I have done with my life
