MSE Parents Club Part 10

mel - sorry I missed your q about hair, I was reading on my phone earlier. The concept is based off a routine called "Curly Girl" (got a book and website: http://www.naturallycurly.com/). The principle is that the sulphates in shampoos are really drying and curly-headed people are more susceptile to dry hair and therefore frizz. So to eliminate sulphates you also need to eliminate the silicones from conditioner & styling products as silicones can only be washed out with harsh chemicals IYSWIM.
the MSE part is that the cheapest of conditioners tend to be the ones that are 'cone-free because they're cheap. But it's a lot of label-checking and trial & error. For instance, I now use Boots brand natural conditioner for blondes & Boots curl creme. It's the shampoo that's harder to find, but actually a lot of people don't need any shampoo...the scrubbing action of the conditioner + water is enough to 'clean' most people's hair (I use a sulphate-free shampoo b/c I have a v ooily scalp, but the bicarb paste is a very MSE-alternative! also popular is apple cider vinegar rinse which is very nourishing).
That's the quickest explanation I can give without cluttering up the board! I suggest if you're interested, check out the website & see if you can find the book.

GROSS. I'd make her fill that hole right up with glueButtons those piercings are GROSS! My cousin got the start of one, but I showed him my stretched tattoo on my saggy belly and said imagine when you're looking for work when you finish college, and you have to take it out and your ear lobe is sagging all over the place, and he took it out :rotfl:
BTW technical term is tunnelI'm SO down with the kids!
Those make me queasy - and they smell! There is an actual weird smell that emanates from the stretched lobe holes. I saw a photo of a girl who had one in her lip to show off her teeth. Imagine the horror if she got spinach caught in her teeth :rotfl:
Em, I have three tattoos but they're well placed so they didn't stretch during pregnancy. The one on my upper arm I wish I'd put elsewhere since it limits my work-appropriate clothing choices, but nobody sees the others unless I've got my bikini onOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

If that's easiest for everyone else then it's not too bad really. Wonder if it'd be easier to get the train though. Last time i went near there, it was to Ikea which wasn't scary, but the whole parking/zones situation scares me LOL. Also i went to Wet n Wild (south shields i think??) and omg - the roundabouts had about 15 lanes each i was totally crapping myself.
I've turned into a bit of a nervous driver since i had Amber. I'm going to Boro today and i hate hate hate it. Just have this recurring fear that i'll knock the steering wheel a bit too hard and go flying into the central reservation. I was always ok.
Elle - i just added u on facebook and totally had you down as a blonde, i don't know why. It's always nice looking at what people look like, makes you seem like a real person but we all know we're really nothehe
Weezl, oops lol - i'd blame lack of sleep but i think you beat me there (yes i noticed u posted at 4am ish!!)0 -
Hi weezl, not much planned to be honest, other than taking Jas to the cinema, just me and her to see Alvin & the chipmunks, and then all of us are going 10 pin bowling on Saturday afternoon
Am doing as little as possible round the house through the day so I am spending time with them and then cleaning etc.. once they go to bedThe two best things I have done with my life

:rotfl: Just confused Rhys.. I was talking to OH on the phone (don't usually during the day, just txt instead) and I put the phone to Rhys' ear. His eyebrows shot up, then he looked towards the door (where Daddy is usually standing when he first comes in and says Hi to Rhys), then back at the phone in amazement!0

Motm - I don't think he is too bothered about that aspect of it, although it is something I will mention to him, and the reason I couldn't bring myself to be sterilised! Also it is less invasive and more reliable on the man:) I really need to have a good think as if I know he will only go ahead if I agree too.
I would never have minded as I have always wanted to foster too, but not sure this is an option with dh having mental health issues??
Aless...(not sleds which my phone insists on calling you) I will definitely look at the link. I do find my hair to be dry, but funnily enough not so bad when I straighten it
