I just had to post even though am going to have to dash off as we have friends round for dinner - we were away at some friends last night and my little man slept in his travel cot from midnight-ish to about 8am and woke only once :j This is the first time he's not slept in with us so we are mega chuffed! Not only that, as we knew I'd be having a drink or two, I managed to express 5oz within about a half hour and he drank it quite happily from the bottle too!0

ooh just got 20 thomas the tank books from freegle!!

Tigs I think it helps them not to get constipated cos the food is more solid it needs more hydrating to pass through the gut well.I think its a mixture of a few things, one of them as weezl said,
also to get them used to having water with a meal as aposed to juice
to sort of rinse the teeth
and for dryer foods to stop them getting stuck in the throat (not chocking but you know like when you eat dry crakers and it feel like they stuck halfway down)
also to introduce a free flowing cup
Thanks for that. I'm guessing it becomes more important (from the hydration point of view) when the purees stop being so runny, when lumps are introduced. I know he'll need extra fluid when meat (protein) starts being included. Certainly no problem with his digestive system processing what he has just now :rotfl: But think I'll pick up a suitable cup next time we're out somewhere, and start offering him water after the food, just in case.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

our gas/elec was £260 for the last 3 months which I thought was really good considering there are an extra 2 people in the house (BIL & Jack).
The gas was £50 cheaper than last year but I don't think I had the heating on that much until December.
Jack is watching Aladdin while I cook tea, he's actually not whinging for a change. He either likes the film or it's the 6oz bottle and bowl oif apple/pear!
Thanks choppy - the trays I have are thick plastic and make quite big cubes so they will do for now.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
