Choppy, Petit Filous are almost allllways on some level of offer somewhere
but I agree the RRP is a bit steep. But you can get e.g. 18-packs for £3, half-price in one chain, 2 for £2.50 in another, etc, so it gets a little bit better. We also give Elijah natural 'greek-style' yogurt which you can get a fair bit cheaper.

Am no worried at how much he's eating at all, just curious..
He's just polished off seven cubes of mush. Since we started weaning properly, he's never done an "I'm full" face.. the kid just keeps on troughing
Don't think he's at risk of obesity just yet though

We always assumed we wouldn't be able to buy, but our friends gave us the number for the independent mortgage advisor people they used, and we decided to find out on the off chance, and discovered they were (at that point) prepared to lend us £180k!!!. Not that we could have afforded the payments on that much, but it meant we could start looking at the level we could afford and here we are
That's a really good point, and one that I'd forgotten, thank you...when DH and I were looking to buy our first house (the one we're in now), they said they would lend us £180k, but we didn't want to go that high as we wanted to be able to "live" and not just pay the bills. I'll be on 60% salary when I go back to work due to only working 3 days, but thinking about it, that's not massively below what my 100% salary was when we applied for this mortgage.0 -
Bruno - are you angling for gratuitous posts about ladies kissing  are you sure that you aren't one of those !!!!!! loving trolls that were being talked about the other day
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Elijah is oh so cute BTW!! I commented on one of your FB pics but am a bit scared of your OH TBH so I refrained from further comment. I am loving the vegatable clip (as is hubby!)I like to get a card on V-day, I feel hard done by if I dont! But we dont bother with anything else.
Can someone please tell me that I havent damaged my son for life by not putting shoes on his feet and making him get used to them from an early agecos now when I put his solitary pair of shoes on he points his feet out and wont straighten them out and it makes it almost impossible!
I used to demand a V card from ex-OH. Hubby couldn't believe his luck when I said I hated V day and didn't want a bar of it - MIL is still convinced that I am lying :rotfl:
At the risk of being controversial (AGAIN!!) I think that you are doing the absolute opposite in terms of Seths feet. Babies need to be barefoot until they are walking properly to enable their arches to strengthen and to allow them to walk 'properly' (ie with the correct amount of weight on their feet). From what I can gather, after some googling and chatting to others, cruising shoes and the like are a money maker for the shoe companies (read Clarkes!!) because they promote children being heavy on their shoes because of under-developed foot muscles.
Controversial, but just let the baby be a baby for a while *shrugs shoulders*
LOL - Benjamin will be the last of his peers to be wearing shoes as well as the last one to be weaned :rotfl:
ETA - and shoes are f00king expensive!!!chopsticks wrote: »Hi Mookie  Long time no see. How are you and Leila? Is work going OK?
Elle - Caitlin has half a weetabix with 2oz of milk on. She usually finishes it, but when I've tried giving her a whole weetabix, she doesn't eat it.
That said, since she's been poorly her food intake has been seriously low. I'd only just managed to get it up and it's gone right back down again.
She had one mouthful of weetabix yesterday before throwing up and had about 75% of it (75% of her 50%) this morning. She's only having about two thirds of what she usually does for lunch, and today is the first time in five days she's had tea.
Hope she is okay Choppy - I still can't recognise you with your new gorgeous avvy!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

choppy - I have it on my fridge! But he eats way more than that now! He's a little piggy!
Harley - J is OK but very grumpy especially in the evenings. I gave him some calpol tonight but last night he was awake at 1am and wouldn't settle for ages (I found out earlier that OH didn't come to bed til 1am so probably woke him up). I am convinced it's teeth and can see his teeth very prominently now underneath his gums so they've definitely been on the move
Glad Kezia is better now. I rarely check J's temperature cos the thermometer I have keeps giving strange readings!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Thanks Bruno. I'll keep an eye out on MySupermarket for the offers.
Do you mix anything with the greek-style yoghurt or give it to Elijah plain?0 -

We went out for a walk earlier and were discussing moving house and baby number 2. We always knew this wouldn't be our forever house but the problem is that the type of house we want for our forever house rarely comes on the market round here.
If we go for number 2 before we move house, then it's likely we won't be able to move for years and years, because I'll probably give up work completely. However, we don't want to put plans for number 2 on hold in case we can't find our dream house for years and year. Just not sure what to do at the moment. We've said we'll get our house valued soon and then take it from there. If our house isn't worth as much as we hope it is, or we're in negative equity (unlikely, but could be possible as the last house sold in our street was 4 years ago so we haven't really got an idea of current prices), then our answer will be to stay put and try for number 2.
I guess i'm quite lucky in having our dream house and owning it outright, so looking for a new home is not an issue. I can see it would be an issue having more children and not having a big enough home, thus having to think about moving and all the stress that it all entails.
With any luck your house will be nicely valued and you can look for something more suitable for you. Either way, number 2 is on your mind and whatever happens, I hope it all goes well0 -
Well done to giving up smoking:)
I gave up when I was 15yrs old, just before I gave up I was on 15-20 a day and would smoke 100 at the weekend, along with stupid amounts of alcohol!!!! My nan, my dad and a close family friend alll died of smoking related cancer....
Going to put a film on in a mo... Oh that Moses is oos, but thank you for thinking of me:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0
