I like to get a card on V-day, I feel hard done by if I dont! But we dont bother with anything else.
Baby shoes, I am not good atI have always worried that Seth should always have well fitting shoes that he likes, cos when I was little my mum wouldnt let me have nice shoes, just plain ones that looked like boys shoes cos they were sturdy and would last longer. Well one day my nan bought me some nice shoes and I wore them til my feet were 2 sizes too big for them, and my feet squashed up and never unwravelled!! So I have baby feet/shoe paranoia. I've only ever bought and put on one pair of shoes for Seth, and that was just before xmas
I dont really bother putting them on him when we go out unless its the supermarket, cos nobody will see his feet in the cosytoes and he always has socks on and in the supermarket his feet dangle free for all to see!
Can someone please tell me that I havent damaged my son for life by not putting shoes on his feet and making him get used to them from an early agecos now when I put his solitary pair of shoes on he points his feet out and wont straighten them out and it makes it almost impossible!

Personally, I coat it in Horseradish, sprinkle a beef OXO on it and some mixed herbs put it in a really hot oven (Gas mark 9) for about 15minutes then turn it down to Gas Mark 6 and cook it until it's medium rare. I like my beef rare.
I had blue fillet steak on New Years Day - OMG it was fabulous!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Random question (and one that's been asked before but I'm going to say it again).. how many weetabix do babies here eat? Rhys had (a whole) one this morning for the first time, mixed with pear mush, and it wasn't as much porridge as he normally has  At least I'll be better with portion control with Weetabix - none of this more porridge, more milk, more porridge, more milk faff!
We have just moved on to weetabix as I cant be bothered with the porridge faff in the morning either! I gave Leila about 3 quarters of a weetabix this morning and she probably ate just over half of it. She's eats little and often though (unlike her mummy who eats lots and often!), so she had 8 organix carrots sticks about an 1 1/2 later. I tried her weetabix and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted, but I smiled and said yummy yummy just so Leila didnt see what I really thought of it! How often am I going to have to do that in the future I wonder!!Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j0 -
Hi Mookie  Long time no see. How are you and Leila? Is work going OK?
Elle - Caitlin has half a weetabix with 2oz of milk on. She usually finishes it, but when I've tried giving her a whole weetabix, she doesn't eat it.
That said, since she's been poorly her food intake has been seriously low. I'd only just managed to get it up and it's gone right back down again.
She had one mouthful of weetabix yesterday before throwing up and had about 75% of it (75% of her 50%) this morning. She's only having about two thirds of what she usually does for lunch, and today is the first time in five days she's had tea.0 -

We haven't gone out on valentines day for years, but we try and use it as an excuse to get takeaway, or cook something special.Hi all.
Can I share.
I have officially been 'smoke free' for a year. Well, a year yesterday really. This time 1 year and 1 day ago I was stood on the patio with preg test in one hand, cigarette in the other and the biggest grin on my face you could ever see.
And it seems like yesterday.
Anyway, just wanted to share in my proud moment (yes, another one). Will be ringing life insurance people on Monday to demand substantial discount.

Woohoo, well done you:T:T

I just asked OH what we should do for Valentine's Day and made a few suggestions, and his reply? "I'm not even listening to you, what are you going on and on about...." :rotfl:Good job I love him!
I don't even get that, I get "yes", so if it is something important I have to ask him if he knows what he is agreeing to :rotfl:.Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I made far too much porridge yesterday and I wouldn't let him have it all - he wasn't impressed!
I'm struggle with portion control, I just don't know how much he should be having! It says that he will let you know when he's full but so far he has just sat there with his mouth open waiting for the next spoonful!
In reply to both of the above - when they are full they will stop eating. Like us sometimes it will be a little meal, sometimes they will be starving, and there will be no logical reason for either. Try not to worry and keep giving them more as long as they are eating it. I will happily give main meal, side order (bread or veg), pudding, fruit or 2 and a biscuit if Benjamin wants it but sometimes he will only eat half his main meal and some fruit!! If he is hungry he will let me know.
Benjamin usually eats 1 weetabix BTW. But always followed by some fruit and 2 fromage fraisplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

Because I had a spare 20 minutes to fritter away reading your [STRIKE]awesomely entertaining[/STRIKE] silly link :eek:
Just for that young MFD, I warn you, if you don't go to see the others on Tuesday, or there are no reports of kissing, you may have your 'kissy socialite' crown stripped from you!
We sorta-ish celebrate Valentine's, i.e. we try to do something but not anything more surprising than we might do any month really. And as OH's birthday is so near to it, we usually get to do my choice on Valentine's:A
Silverside - you can roast/'pot roast'/slow roast... I expect you can SC too but don't know... very nice when you get it rightgood luck!
Weetabix is ok from early I think, as it can be mushed right up?
I get anxious at our cruel treatment of Elijah when I read these reports of young babies scoffing multiple Weetabix; at 17 months he still never eats more than one, although he would usually eat some random other stuff too...0 -
