I may be wrong here but I don't think having chicken pox is a cure for getting shingles in fact I think you are more likely to get shingles if you have had chicken pox but you can also get shingles whithout having had chicken pox....like I say I may be wrong but I am sure I have had this discussion with both the pharmacist and patients when I used to work in the chemist??

Now important question....do I buy a bigger tent from eBay that is a fantastic rolls royce of tents, but get it second-hand or do I buy a new tent....still an excellent reputable make but not up the the standard of 'other' tent?

The chicken pox virus stays in your body and can reactivate later in life expressing itself as shingles. Repeated exposure to people with chicken pox reduces the likelihood of having shingles. Because in the US children are routinely vaccinated, people who have already had chicken pox are not exposed to people with chicken pox and so as a result more people are getting shingles.

Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus attaching to a nerve and going into a dormant state. It may then wake up years later (or not at all) ausing shingles. A person with shingles can spread chicken pox to others from the rash they get, but not shingles. Shingles is chicken pox on a nerve, not in the entire body.

Many people have chicken pox, or come into contact with chicken pox but don't get ill so they don't know they have had it.

anyone done anything they said they never would with LO's??

for me its using a soother. always said i never would but after wasting b/milk to help him sleep i gave in. (i refuse to call it anything else but a soother as well)

when i had chicken pox....i went to school. only had a few spots. didnt want to stay at home (such a geek)

Feeding jars, buying expensive dresses, dressing in pink, giving them a tv in their room, letting them play adult video games, giving cereal as dinner.... want me to go on?

If you said it before you gave birth to him it doesn't count because you were young and naive and didnt know any better
