I didn't bring it up. It's a sig. It's actually out of date, because I can't be bothered to alter it, but it is still only a sig and not the text content of a post.
er, so your saying that a response can only be to what is specifically stated in one post at a time?
that a response cannot take into account other information available?
how does a discussion work if it is so tightly constrained as to never evolve & use new information?0 -
iPad looks nice but totally not functional for me unless you want to do one thing and that is looking at colourful books (i.e. not novels). So will not be buying it.
However, will still try it out and see how it works at a store.
More interested at the MSI dual screen and HP slate later this year.0 -

Am I? I wasn't aware that I'd typed anything along those lines.that a response cannot take into account other information available?
If my finances are relevant to a discussion about the abilities of a new Apple product, or if that product would fit any criteria I set for it, then I am happy for my finances to be discussed. I would even be prepared to include a monthly breakdown of my income and expenditure, if that has any relevance the to Apple product or if the Apple product fits my criteria. You can have photo's of my sister if you want, as long as it has some slight relevance to the new Apple product, or the criteria I set for that product.how does a discussion work if it is so tightly constrained as to never evolve & use new information?
If discussion about the new Apple product, or the criteria I set for it, has any relevance to my personal finances then I am perfectly willing to discuss them.
So, could you explain which part of my monthly expenditure caused Apple not to include USB on the iPad?I have no signature.0 -

No USB seems odd also, so if you've got a flash drive with photos on it I can't just stick them straight onto your iPad.poppy100

So you disagree that you should probably try something out before announcing it as brilliant?
I haven't announced it as being brilliant.
I think it looks like a really cool product, but I shall wait until I try one out before I decide if it's crap or not.
For some reason, this makes me a brainwashed fanboy, whereas people who post extremely negative opinions of something they've never even used regard themselves as bastions of level-headed objectivity.
It's a funny old world, innit? So you disagree that people can read specs & make a comparison to already existing systems?
& then draw perfectly valid conclusions from that?
For starters, comparing it to a laptop or netbook doesn't tell you much as it's neither of those things. Secondly, if the major selling point of the product is its user experience, then no, comparing to the specs of other products doesn't tell you a whole lot.0 -
So yay, you get to pay another thirty bucks for a proprietary Apple-only connector (which probably cost a couple of bucks to make) and which you have to carry around and hope you don't lose. Well done you.
Of course, I can just slot my SD card into my netbook and edit my pics with any editing program choose, but I'm sure your way is much more convenient. Apple - It Just Works! (if you pay us)poppy100
