vodafone change to world price plan T&Cs

This has come at a very interesting time for me. I only joined Vodafone about 2 months ago but I'm due to travel to a 'rest of the world country' this weekend for at least 2 months (taking me past the date that the price increases). I think I've got a strong case to ask to be released from my contract as it will affect me when I use my vodafone priceplan abroad:
Currently, it's £1.49p/min to make a call (£1.69p/min if using an unpreferred network) and £1.25p/min to receive a call.
Once the changes come in, it increases to £1.65p/min to make a call and £1.30p/min to receive a call.
I think I'll send in a letter with a copy of my travel itenery and see where it takes me.0 -
I did make a considerable (Many hours) amount of roaming calls over the space of 2 months from Australia last Summer but due to the 'Summer of Roaming' promotion I wasn't charged any extra for them.
However surely this is evidence at least that I do use roaming services for more than simply a few texts from Benidorm once a year?0 -
Ive just called them querying this and they basically said there was no change as he just added the passport. I said it must affect something if i was in america but he said not. Does anyone know the current call charges from america?0

The coming changes are detailed in the top link 'Find out more' which opens in a new window I think.0 -

Vodafone are really frustrating me now! I sent an email explaining i wanted to cancel and why, then got a response telling me about passport and telling me how much i would be charged to cancel. I then emailed back saying i had already said i was going to a non passport country. I just seem to have recieved three emails now saying the same thing everytime. They obviously speak little english as they hardly make sense. Also dont seem bothrred about retaining customers at all and seemed to think they were giving me a good deal by offering the standard 25% reduction when cancelling early!0

I am sending my letter in today. will let everyone know how i get on.
Has anyone else had any joy?0 -
Id be interested to hear if anyone manages to cancel their contract,I currently have my partners and my phone with them for another 6 months!0

Ive just recieved a more human response after several emails that had just been copied from a stardard scripr it seems. I shall post what they said when i get to a computer but it basically says the part in the terms and conditions about changes to charges relates to uk charges and they have little control about charges abroad. So no way i can cancel free0
