I have not received the text yet aswell, but if the changes are definate, then every voda customer will get notified of the change. Good thing is I just signed a 24month contract 2 weeks ago for a BB 9700.
Looking forward to the reply.0 -
I wouldn't hold your breath for a text - my brother is on vodafone contract and not received anything.
An interesting thread from 2008 on subject of canceling a contract due to price change at vodafone

Think they probably have it covered in the T&C.0 -
I'm not sure I understand whether this 'It must result in a 10% increase in your bills' thing has any legal basis at all.
After all, past usage is no indication of future usage and we did, at the end of the day, sign a contract agreeing to a certain level of charges.
I travel a lot - but in Summer. I spent 6-7 weeks in Australia this Summer, for example. I renewed when I returned in July after being happy with the roaming price structure. Obviously since I signed my revised contract I've not made a single roaming call, so by this '10% on your previous bill' thing I'm 'not affected'
Well no, but only because I don't travel in Winter. I'll be off again in May - and now my calls will cost more.
This isnt what I signed a contract for? Whats the point in signing a contract if they can just change what they like?
If I decided I didnt want to pay 9% of my bill can I just change my direct debit based on the fact Vodafones income wont fall by 10%? Dont think so..0 -
Is the 10% issue a bit of a red herring? Could vodafone customers not seek to terminate the contract based on clause 11.2 (d) in which they state you can terminate the contract if....."we (vodafone) change this Agreement to your significant disadvantage including the change or withdrawal of Services (we will tell you if this is the case) and you write to us within one month of us telling you about the change. This does not apply where the change relates to Services which can be cancelled without termination of this Agreement."
If someone is planning to spend time abroad (say in the US) this summer, wouldn't they be disadvantaged? The 'significant' bit is open to interpretation but if you are new to Vodafone since last summer how do they know what level of calls you made last year? I doubt they would ask you to prove how many calls you made last summer whilst with a different provider. I, for one, don't keep my bills that long. So how could they assess if you will be 'significantly' disadvantaged with nothing to compare to?
Am I lookingat this the wrong way?
