Thanks for quick reply,if we request a BAG for the visit to WTC, how long will he/she be with us,is a couple of hours or a half day and can you not give them a tip as a thank you?

Seeing as you know when you are going to be in NY you should be arranging your BAG now as they get booked up well in advance.

When i did my LES tour the chap was with me for 3ish hours oh and nope they arent allowed to accept tips however they usually give you an envelope at the end so you can send your feedback to them and a donation to the BAG organisation itself but they wont take it off you then.

Also wtc is a building they tend to show you around areas so you would be looking at the financial distrist/LES

Is the Financial district/LES the same as " ground zero " i know you are not supposed to call it that but would love to visit it and the church where the firefighters rested during the incident.

Also the The Trailer Park Lounge that you recomed,is it a bar or a restaraunt or both, looking for someplace we can go at night for a couple of beers/drinks with something to eat,bar snack type place rather than fine dining:T

our BA Greeter met us at the hotel, spent the best part of the day with us, no charges or pressure all our choice or describe what you like and let them lead. No payment, no tips although I gave them a local whisky miniature and some Scottish Tablet as a gift from home and a thanks. He seemed genuinely pleased.I did the same with several people we met in the states. I'm not big on tipping!

M4rk use to have a real issue with the term ground zero but ive lost count of the number of times ive heard news anchors use the term. Anyway its no longer either now as its now the site of freedom tower i would say its more financial district but you really dont need a BAG to show you around the area.

The church you mention is st pauls, which by the by has a half way decent diner called stage door, beside it, when i say decent i mean its proper NY lots of locals and your breakfast gets served to you on styrofoam plates but i love it for pancakes and coffee.

Trailer park lounge is a cool little bar and the food is more bar oriented so philly sandwhiches, great burgers with yummy tatter tots.

I would also recommend the spotted pig, which i think now has a michelin star, which is the home to the 2nd best burger ive ever had and where i spent a very liquid filled 40th/thanksgiving day a couple of years ago

    Times Sq.
    Evening meal and drinks

not trying to pack to much in as my wife does not like walking to far.

If we book a NY Greeter for the visit to WTC/St. Pauls Chapel,do they meet you at your hotel or at the site? If at your hotel do you pay their transport costs,ie subway tickets etc.

If anybody has any comments or tweaks to the above please feel free to let me know.

    Thanks Ganga:j

Extra things to consider you haven't mentioned that we saw:

Empire State building (we went up at night and was amazing)
    Walk along new york highline
    Broadway show
    Ghostbusters Firehouse
    UN Building
    Flatiron Building

Two questions: What time does the TOTR open in the morning?
No mention of FAO Schwatz, the toy shop with the piano in "Big"
    is it still open?
