We booked with KLM and flew back with Delta due to the ash cloud. They were fine. I would highly recommend the Delta reps at JFK, they were fantastic.

However I've been investigating my trip out to the wedding and the town is either Greenvale or Glenhead. I know I need to change at Jamaica but I know nothing about that station! How big is it? Will I get lost? Is it well signposted/lots of those tv screens with departures on it? Are there lots of staff around?
The trains to Greenvale/Glenhead are only every two hours and I don't want to miss the wedding!
I wonder if m4rk's thread (linked from the opening post on this thread) would help you with that one? We used an overland train from Grand Central Station and once we'd got over the 'Wow!' moments, it was no problem to navigate to the right train. Bet there will be fewer 'Wow!' moments about Jamaica station, but beyond that I can't help.

BTW, is it worth asking your friend?

Delta?check you aint codeshare with Air France.

I've checked and my codes are Delta 0002 and Delta 0003 so it doesn't appear to me a code share. it's a direct flight and I've flown with Air France before so I'm all used to it

He's really busy with wedding prep but I shall message him tonight.
I have looked on the MTA websites but can't find anything about station layout

I booked with Delta last week,am flying with Air France,as to why i asked. Was due to go with BA,took a chance with booking Delta, luckily its paid off as my BA flight has been confirmed cancelled, and can claim a full refund.Otherwise i would have had to re-book for NY with BA at a later date.

My BA flight has been cancelled as well! I'm so glad I re-booked elsewhere!

Did you arrange Delta yourself or thru BA?its cost me an extra £100 to book Delta myself,BA won't entertain refunding me an extra £100,to$$ers.

Also go to change at Paris with Delta.

I re-arranged myself via the Delta website on the weekend at an extra £170.
I had a look on the Air France website, it does appear that Delta are taking some of the passengers (but the time I went with Air France I was on an Air France plane)

BA wouldn't refund until my flight was confirmed as going or not and I couldn't risk not being re-routed or not going at all. That's why I moved my flights to next year.

The first 3 BA flights are still on for Sunday morning, we have standby tickets for the earliest one, so hoping we'll be lucky and get seats. There are other flights to Newark too so may have to go that route.

To be fair, you can't really blame BA for not giving you the extra money as they would have rerouted you once your flight was confirmed as cancelled.
