Cheers for the info.
Concering the longish journey, wife n daughter will probably be shopping,i'll have quite a bit of time to spare.:D
At this time of year it's better to go to Coney Island at the weekend, some attractions may not be open during the week. Some more info here

Glad you chose the Yankees over the Mets...enjoy.0 -
Cheers for that.
Also going to a Yankees game, got tkts for $5 each. Winner.:D
Sections 201 or 239 by any chance, if so those $5 bargain seats are not quite such a hot bargain as you'll only see maybe 30-40% of the field. Don't get me wrong, if you're in 201 the atmosphere should be good (the "rowdy" fans sit in 203 - Bleacher Creatures!) but the view is a little meh. Best bet as well is to get there for doors opening, you can catch batting practice (best chance to get a ball) & I recommend taking in Monument Park as well as it pays homage to baseball royalty. (Not sure if the museum is open on game days but that's also worth a look too)Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
Actually in 238. Not a baseball fan,but whilst in NY,why not.
Doesn't bother me about the rides, just wanna go there,(Warriors)0 -
To be fair the Warriors connection was one of the reasons I went down to Coney Island! (Nathan's was the other, it probably doesn't say much given my defective taste but I wasn't impressed!)
Only thing I'll say about going to the ball game is to expect tight security. First time I went back in 2009 it was a piece of cake, flash your ticket & walk in, nowadays MLB stadia all have airport style security. Fortunately in the intervening period I was at the Olympic football, Paralympics & Commonwealth Games, so was pretty much ready for it. I hope you've arranged to pick up your tickets at the booth though, cos they just implemented a no print-at-home tickets policy, only tickets & mobile phone tickets these days.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
We've got E tickets,it says All ticket verification QR codes will appear 48 hours prior to the scheduled start of the game. Hope that'd good enough.0

It says that for mobiles too.0

Yeah it's mobile phone tickets from what I understand - so long as you can get wifi/4g you should be OK. (Worst case scenario there's a McDonalds across the street which I guess has free wifi to load the ticket up!)Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
ince mon,
Here's a link to a video which explains how to ride the NYC subway:

Sorry if you're already an experienced subway user and know all this stuff."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -

Don't know about that, I've bought beers at my seat in Yankee Stadium several times without being carded. Not that there is any doubt I'm over 21, sadly...
It is, however, always a good idea to have photo ID with you, especially if you look under 30.0
