Dont wana be rude but i just read your post and it doesnt make a lot of sense.

Are you saying youve previously managed to get to ny for free?

Flight prices are no different if you are staying one day or a year, you can easily check this yourself by trying different dates on expedia etc.

sorry last time we booked was with expedia and the cost of the flight was included with the price so basically we didn't pay anything for the flight.

This time its seems no matter what length of time i select beyond 13 days the price is an extra £400 on top of the actual package price. I was just wondering if this was normally the case with the longer thr holiday the more it costs extra for flights.

Well you did pay for the flights as its just part of the price of the package, if you had removed the flights from the package the price would have reduced.

Are you only looking at one date as it may be the case that your flights are during peak season or more expensive flying days.

Also 14 days is one hell of a long time in NY i love the place but on each if my trips i find after 5 days i wana get out if there ok i wana return the second i get back home but thats life

where looking to go from the 1st of July same time as last time. The only reason where going for 14 days is because it will probably be the last time we go.

The last two times we went we flew with united was hoping to do it again since there where pretty good if it is an extra £800 then i would have to budget that in to it that was all.

Well you wont be able to book owt till 2017 so budget for it and hopefully you wont need the extra cash.

However in the mean time apd could shoot up along with fuel prices and add a heck of a lot more on to the cost of ur trip unfortunately.

Of course it's true the flights were not free, but depending on the hotels used, it's possible that it did look like the flights were free, given the length of stay and compared to a hotel-only price. Expedia (and other providers) get rates with bigger discounts from some hotels for packaging only.

On 10-12 night stays in NYC hotels, it's possible that the cumulative discount on the hotel nights came close to covering an economy airfare (which might also have been a cheaper fare as a result of being part of a package). Taking the flights out of the package may not have had a material impact on the price, as the hotel rates would increase in this case.

that could be the case just seems alot for the price of the flights i always thought the price of the hotels would have increased more than the price of the flights

Could you give an example of what you mean by "an extra £400 on top of the actual package price". If it's a package, there should be a single price, are they quoting supplements?
