You might get cheaper, but that's not an outrageous price for a private car. A normal taxi will be cheaper (USD 52 + tolls/tips to one destination in Manhattan). Tipping in NYC these days is an expected 15-20%, probably around $10 on the airport ride. Would still be cheaper than Viator, though maybe not as comfortable as a private car.
Thanks for the info, so does anybody know what the current tolls/taxes are? I assume they would be the same whether it's a taxi or car?
I think I saw some comments re Carmel and you can sometimes get money off vouchers, so at $1.50 to the £1 the Viator price seems to work out at approx $102 all in so I would need to know the tolls/taxes to add to the Carmel price?0 -
I mainly use the train from JFK to Manhattan, but I think the tolls are about USD 5-6, plus the 50c state tax. The 59th St bridge used to be toll-free, but even if it still is, that's the long way round.0

I'm looking to go to New York then Vegas around 21st/22nd June, spending 3 nights in New York. Does anyone know of a good company to look into prices for flights, or packages? i'm struggling with the ones that I know at the moment. new York flights seem much cheaper to buy a return than a single flight, by about £500. I could be doing it the wrong way though. I've looked at expedia, ba.com, virgin and quick look at skyscanner, but that didn't work out very well.0

or book a return to NY from the UK, then an internal return from NY to Vegas. Try Jet Blue, they are very reasonably priced.0

Try looking for "open-jaw", "multi-city" or similarly worded options.

Thanks, are there any sites you'd recommend for looking for those kind of tickets?0 -

flight london new york
and it'll come up with a list of the usual suspects. If you're not familiar with using these web sites then take your time, check everything including the departure times, whether flights are non-stop, which airline, which airport at each end, etc before making a booking. You should be able to get a good idea from those sites if you are searching multi-city correctly. You could also try Google Flights. If you could give a bit more info, people on here might be able to help more, e.g.
What prices did you get on those searches, and what is your budget?
How long will you stay in Vegas? This is relevant because your outbound date is a Sunday, and if you are not staying a Saturday night away, the flights are likely to cost more.
Are you prepared to fly back to the UK indirectly from Vegas?
Are you looking from/to London airports?0 -
