  • Wondering if anyone could give me a hand with some flights. I'm hoping to go to Cincinnati, OH (don't worry, this is still New York related!) next year in June/July time. I went last year and paid £435 for my flights which I thought was decent. I fly from belfast to Newark and then on from there. I'm checking now and the flights are coming up between £600/700 which I think is just too much. I've been pricing the flights just to Newark incase I can get these cheaper and find another way there without booking it together, but these flights are still coming up at £550ish. I've only booked flights in November for NYC so I'm just wondering if this is the normal price I'd pay at that time of year? We're hoping to fly 3 people any date from 20th June onwards for 2 weeks, and as long as it's after this date we're pretty flexible.

  • Just sitting in my hotel in NYC waiting for my transfer to the airport.

What started out as super stressful holiday after my flights were cancelled last Saturday has turned into a fab week.

It was freezing cold Monday (-4), snowy on Tuesday and has gradually got warmer all week and today I've been walking around in the sun with no coat on!

I'll write more when I get back about my trip.

    Gem x

Yeah, I can beat that easily....
Delta - LHR to JFK is £498 per person, seen on Kayak via Opodo.
King and Grove Manhattan is $1366, so £850 for the 5 nights and that's on quikbook..

That is by my maths £923 each saving over £150.

    M!

Hi all - got a question about shopping in NYC.

Is pretty much everything cheaper in the US? We were going to buy some Uggs and a pair of Timberland boots before we left but looking online both appear cheaper over there.

Also looking at jewellery - would that also be better to wait until we get there?

Hello, we were there for a few days before Christmas, Mrs PR treated herself to a pair of Ugg bailey 3 button tall boots they were $239 with sales tax, translated to £150.45p after credit card fees. They retail at £200 here but maybe cheaper in the sales.
