Personally, I think I'd find a way of printing boarding pass BEFORE getting to the airport, just in case ... and to reduce stress on the day. If you don't know anyone with a printer, and can't access one at work, some libraries offer pcs with printers attached.

But maybe that's just me: I have seen the printers at airports where you can print your boarding pass, but I just wouldn't want to have to find one, risk being able to understand and follow the instructions, etc etc etc.

Sue, it's so easy. They are everywhere and many staff to help if you get stuck! Having had some stressful situations in the past with broken printers / printers that didn't print to the right quality etc - and spending a large part of the final prep day chasing around desperately looking for a working printer - you definitely do not need to do it. In fact, I am sure that despite having the home prints they gave made us do it again in the airport anyway! That applies to VA, BA, United, Delta (can't speak for others).

But both our kids want to go to Image Anime. They are both into a Japanese tv show called Kamen Rider and I reckon this shop will be visited a couple of times.

Well, thanks   (just kidding!)

I have two manga / anime obsessed kids who are now demanding a visit here.

I'd book the car for an hour after landing, but what you do is phone once you're out: there are dedicated phones for the major companies like Carmel.

Thank you. I meant for our return journey home. From what I can make out I can check in 24hrs before we fly home. Its at that point (I assume) I print out boarding passes. We have wifi in our hotel so checking in will be fine but I dont know anyone in new york who I could ask to print them out. Thanks for the advice about leaving it an hour after the plane lands for book a taxi.

Thank you for your earlier advice too. Thats good to know staff are helpfull.

The shop is the main reason we are going on holiday. Son is autistic and when he said he would like to go to new york we jumped at the chance as we havent left the country in years. Son is happy to do tourist stuff so long as we visit the shop a couple of times.

Quite a few hotels have boarding pass printing facilities that you can use - in fact thinking about it, all the hotels we've used in NYC had this facility...if not FedEx Kinko's will give you access to print off them for a few bucks and they have stores all over the city.

Ok. You definitely can do this at the airport. We are flying VA in six days' time and I'm doing OLCI and I won't be printing boarding passes until we get to the airport :T
  • Thank you! When you get back can you let me know how you get on with printing the passes please.
