Yup, that's the badger....
Yeah, you need to know how much you've spent, and if you spend more than £390, you declare the lot. I'd be careful not to overspend....
Prepaid is good. I've got a FairFX, which is the best for Card Transactions, or you can get a Caxton FX which is best for cash withdrawals.
$1000? You're fine. I've taken more, you only declare more than $10k in cash per family.
Nope, not been there... as for movies/TV shows, if you want to see if you can see any filming, check out http://www.onlocationvacations.com/ which is updated regularly with locations that filming should be taking place.
Today, you could see any of the following

Movie Buff) Some FYIs: 1) Original tip was for Greenwich ST but can only find where Greenwich AVE crosses 7th, 2) Could be to move cars Tues. and film Wed., sign was for both days, 3) Zac Efron might be wrapping his part on this film, his next movie, Parkland begins filming this week in Austin, TX.
The Following filming on 25th St and 7th/8th Ave in NYC. (Thanks @phuqyhew)

I think I'll just take cash, to be honest seeing as it shouldn't be a problem.
That website is brilliant, will definitely be looking at that closer to my visit.
Your advice, as always, is excellent. Thanks a lot.Clint Eastwood Movie Icon book. First Win!:j0 -
Any links to a google mapping for our visit in April? Not very techno minded, is there an app that you can put all the places you want to see?
Thanks0 -
Organised so I am not flitting about the city, and options if its raining.
Will try the google map out.0 -
Dont bother with shuttle transfers if there are more than 3 in your party. There is a fixed price of $55 for a yellow cab to manhatten, just get one at the door. Also, some of the sights/attractions are still closed due to hurricane damage, particularly along the Eastern Seaboard.....enquire whats actually available before you buy open tickets.0

This is my issue at the moment. I'm not sure what method of transfer to actually go for.
I would never get a shuttle bus after our previous experience which was awful. We got told it would drop us off near our hotel, if anything it went all round that area and randomly said 'This is the end of the line' so we had to get a taxi. Possibly just a one off experience though.
How much is the current flat fare for taxi's from JFK? I understand its around $52 + toll + tip.
Any idea on an approximate amount for the toll? Im expecting to pay roughly $65 a trip.0 -

I'd round up to $70. $52 is the base fare, $5 is the toll, 20% tip = $10.40 Grand Total $67.40
If there are 2 of you, I'd get the AirTrain / Subway as that's $7.25 each, and no need to tip anyone.

Hi
I am looking for advice on hotels for the period of March 14th - 19th in New York city. Midtown preferably, but open to other areas closeby. I would like a little bit of luxury, but on a budget. Yes, I know, probably a bit impossible! Budget is £700 - £1,000 for 5 nights. Thanking you in advance.
Deecat
