You've got a window of opportunity. Before you book and etch those dates in stone, start searching for your hotel. $235 (before tax) per night isn't the largest budget, but your dates are on your side.

Booked to go back to NYC in Feb for the 3rd time :D

Flying from Newcastle>London>JFK return and 4 nights at the Doubletree Times Square (stayed here last time, HATE the times square location but LOVE the suites and views, plus it was on sale) for £785pp. Can't wait!

Hi, has anyone ever done the 'Food On Foot' tours? Any recommendations or things I need to know? How much money do you spend while on the tour? Cheers

I did one of these last December in the east village and it was fab! One tip, DON'T eat a big NY breakfast! We were stuffed afterwards. You eat small amounts in lots of little local places, and you also get a few extras so we went inside a little theatre and learned about the history and a speak easy bar etc. You also get a booklet with discount coupons for the places you go to so you can go back afterwards if you want :D

I'm looking to do another one for Feb when we next go!

If you hate it that much, why didn't ask for help, and to find a better suite hotel. Theoretically, February, and a budget of $225 per night means you could have got a wonderful hotel... :/ *confused*

I looked at other suite hotels but were more expensive. Plus I book flight + hotel together through Expedia as always find it to be cheaper, and prefer having a package just incase.

Just incase what ? I ask before your in for a eye opener. What protection do you think booking your flight and hotel together through expedia brings ? Doubletree hotels are decent places and staying around times square isnt all bad .. Enjoy NYC

I know I did like the hotel last time and the views are good, just don't like the hustle directly outside the front door but suppose not around there for long :)

Don't you get protection booking as part of a package? When my friend was going to NY one year the volanic ash happened and luckily she booked through Expedia and they rearranged everything for her... better than paying cancellation fees etc?
