    Hello

I am looking for a cruise/water tour which gets closer to the statue of liberty, but I would also like to visit the 911 memorial site on the same day.

There are no reservations for any of the dates I want 12/28-12/30. I am disappointed as there were last week, but I wasnt sure what water tour I wanted to do and at what time.

I was wondering whether anyone can recommend a water tour which also has tickets to the memorial?

Also if anyone is looking for tickets and sees any on that available day, if you wouldnt mind pm'ing me please? (I have read some become available closer to the time)

I have looked at the New York water taxi, which have tickets to the memorial too, however I am not sure if it goes near to the statue of liberty and also unsure of how to time things! Ideally I want to be out early 9-10am on that day

    Any help/suggestions appreciated :)
    Thank you.

I am still not sure what will be enough spending money. we have about $2100 (between 2 of us). Everything is booked and paid for but no food is included, so we have to buy food for 7 days. (6 nights we are going for). We don't plan on doing much shopping and what we want to do sight seeing wise is the top of the rock, Empire State, (free) ferry to have a look at statue of Liberty and a hop on and off bus tour. We want to also have a carriage ride in central park and grap a couple of taxis around.

Do you think this is a reasonable amount for spending money??? x

You should be fine. NYC like any other place can be as cheap or expensive as you like. For cheaper and better meals stay out of Midtown.

I'd advise getting an unlimited 7-day metro card to travel the city ($29 per person), rather than a bus tour as that's an expensive way to see the place. If your health is good you can easily walk much of Manhattan and just jump on the subway when you want to head further afield or just want a rest.

Just a question about the concierge in the hotel, I have never asked them to help with anything whilst in nyc. What is the tipping etiquette?

Yes, a small tip would normally be expected for that.

I'm so excited I'm going back to NY on Monday for my 2nd visit - looking forward to seeing NY close to Christmas!

Just wondering if anyone has visited at this time of year before and have any tips on anything to see or do? I did all the 'main' tourist sites in the 1st trip - this time I'm doing a food tour in Greenwich, visiting the 9/11 memorial, seeing the new section of Highline Park and lots of shopping. This time I'm feeling more brave so to save on taxi fare we're doing Air Train/Subway route from airport to our hotel (in Times Square) which could be fun armed with suitcases :)
