Just changing those dates to the 24th - 28th (including saturday) brings flights down to £474 each (£948)

I'll have a word with the people getting married and see if they can change the wedding from the 23rd :D

M4RKM, I realise you're a Wessie, so it's going to pain me to say this, but seriously ... you should get a medal or something for all this advice on New York! :D

Q - Are MasterCard cards accepted globally?
A - Yes, MasterCard is accepted around the world at retail outlets and ATM machines, where you see the MasterCard (or Maestro/Cirrus) sign. Currently, you can use your card in more than 24.6 million locations worldwide.

All a fairfx card is, is a mastercard.

Thanks, I was aware of that but in Florida not all places would accept it for some reason (even though they would accept mastercard ) I ended up having to take cash out of the ATMs.

We used ours across California as a credit card and didn't have any problems with it not being accepted.

    Hi
we are looking at going to New York April 2012 - can you advise when the best time is to book.
Do i book flights as soon as available and then do a hotel nearer the time or book all of it at same time.
Your valuable advice would be most welcome as this will be our first time of going and will be a family of 4 - 2 adults 2 children (16 & 14 at time of going) any advice on a hotel that would suit would also be grateful.
    :)

Come back in October. No point really even looking, hotels have zero availability, flights are not on sale until at least May.

Anyone off to NYC in the next couple of weeks who could make use of an unused Groupon?

I have a $30 groupon to be used at the Cacao bar and Tea Salon in New York, There are two places where this could be redeemed:

    484 Broome Street

    or

    Limelight Market Place
    656 Avenue of the Americas
    3rd Floor

I bought this last year, but did not get round to using it.

The snag is that the groupon expires on 1st March. Send a PM if you are interested and can make use of it.

I land on the 1st March. Heading up to see John Stewart / The Daily Show for 4pm so don't think I can make much use of this voucher.

Groupon rules though, got cheapo pizza at Johns of Bleecker Street last time

You managed to get tickets then? I've been keeping an eye out for the show the week after.
