Hi everyone, 1st post on this thread...

Heading to New York as part of our honeymoon on May 3rd which is also wifey to be's 30th birthday. Can anyone recommend a nice restaurant to take her? Been having a good look online but can't seem to find anything that'll suit us. We aren't really into posh food & every restaurant that looks nice seems to have Foie Gras etc on the menu, yuk! I don't do seafood or cheese so that limits us a bit. To be honest, if we were at home we'd probably go to TGI's (classy hey?), so I guess i'd be looking at a posh burger or something but somewhere with a view or romantic if there is such a thing? Staying off Times Square but don't mind travelling...

    Thanks in advance

And this is the reason why I won't fly with CO. I think they're really now one of the last Transatlantic airlines, that still charge for booze. I fly Delta, and they give me free booze.
Flying with Delta/KLM on the MAN-JFK route. Seat Guru says one drink with meal and Delta says complimentary drinks on flights over 6 hours. So I assume transatlantic will be complimentary, being a 8 hour flight and all. Also checekd luggage is 23kg (50lbs) and carry-on is size rather than weight restrictive (couldn't find a weight). Sound about right?

Reminds me of first looking at doing this new york trip. Went to Trailfinders as they offer a relatively cheap business class & 4* stay. When we enquired, it turned out it was a middle eastern airline and the flights were "dry" :rotfl:(Also flew from London only which doesn't work for us). We/ve stuck to economy and will spend our money when we get there.
I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.

    Many thanks for the replies...

Staying at The Westin, been on google maps & seen that Dallas BBQ is literally a few doors down with a Cold Stone Creamery next door to that, on a diet & i'm drooling at the menu's! Dallas BBQ looks very reasonably priced considering where it is.

Heard that Juniors Cheesecake is very good, i'm sure we'll be paying them a visit too!

Only other one i've found is Famous Daves, a bit more expensive though.

Ahhh Cold Stone Creamery, why must you have reminded me of it! I'm now gonna spend my Saturday night drooling over their website, lol.

Not too sure what restaurants we're going to hit ourselves but Bubba Gump's is definitely on my list! We're fans of the Orlando one so hopefully the Times Square one is just as good!
