Ok reviews on Tripadvisor and yes I know the rooms are small :rotfl:
Its funny actually I emailed the hotel asking what the cancellation policy is and I got a reply saying telling me the cancellation policy and also there are no further discounts other than those advertised on the website!!
I re read my email and I hadn't even written anything about further discount lol I was going to do that next.. They read my mind ha ha

Staff very helpful, the porter kept our cases and managed to get us back to Newark x 4 people in a Cadillac SUV,big thing lol for 10 dollars more than the yellow cab that tooks us there.
As for noise, our room was on the 7th floor and over-looked 29th,you could hear horns honking etc,i took ear plugs.Last year i stayed up in TS at Novotel and had the same experience with noise just honking horns from taxis.Official MR B fan club, dont go............................0 -
Hi all,
Have read through this thread with much interest as going to NY for the first time next month. I'm thinking about what to do/things to see but will return on to ask my questions once I've figures things out more.
My question for now is does anyone know if there is a lounge in Terminal B at Newark Airport that Prioirty Pass members can access? We have an evening flight back to Heathrow and having read about traffic during rush hour, we may be there a few hours before we fly, so looking for a little bit of peace & quiet before boarding.
Thanks in anticipation

I think you can do better than this hotel. Much better. Look on quikbook for a secret hotel - murray hill, and it'll be one of the St Giles hotels, and it's 20 times better for around the same money.

Morning
Yes I know - But I have friends who already booked there so I would like to stay with them.
I have communicated with the hotel by email and they seem nice
As long as its clean and safe I am happy! It will be a place to sleep and thats all
When we went last we stayed at the Marmara (it was the only place with the number of rooms needed and in budget) It was lovely but I certainly didnt make full use of all the facilities i.e kitchen0 -

It always amazes me that people go onto Trip Advisor and complain that rooms in NYC are small. Of course they are small - New York is one of the most densely populated cities on earth with some of the highest property prices. If you want huge rooms at low prices you need to go elsewhere.
Besides, when you are in New York you aren't going to be spending much time in your hotel room.0 -

I'm not complaining about a small room by any means - Clean, safe and nice thats what i'm after0 -
I wouldn't call the 3030 "nice", i'd call is budget. it's on a par with the Cosmopolitan down in TriBeCa.
the thirtythirty used to be an Single Room Occupancy, which eventually (after many years operating illegally) got a certificate of occupancy as a Hotel. There are still a number of SRO rooms in the hotel, and their occupants as they do live there, for a rent stabilized price.
As for safe, manhattan is safe, and as long as you're sensible you'll be fine. you can use the subway at all hours, and it really doesn't start getting quiet on the subway til after 2am
it's a shame you can't experience a great boutique hotel nearby instead, then you do get larger rooms, and a much more personal service. There are new hotels that don't get the promotion on virgin/expedia etc and these are sometimes cheaper too..

Thanks for the reply
Yes it would not have been my first choice, but what can you do  know friends have booked with a travel company..
The location sounds perfect and if nice/budget then thats fine. Don't get me wrong I would love to stay somewhere like the W or intercontinental but thats way out of budget. This one is spot on £ wise for me too compared to others seen plus added bonus of single rooms
There is always another trip. Cant wait to compare the difference staying upper east to staying mid town
They were recommended the Pennsylvania
