suited-aces will have seen the ones on Belfast Freegle asking for women's clothes / shoes etc size 14-16.

Nothing remarkable except that it's a guy who posts asking for them. I'm sure he uses these ads to try and pick up a 'mate'. :D

The only response was from some foreign student who could not drive and wanted me to meet up somewhere so I could give her the hifi.

I once had a bloke ask whether I could take the item I was offering to Heathrow Airport. He said he travelled a lot on business and could meet me between flights. I refused because:

    1) Heathrow is fairly near to me, but the traffic is horrendous and it can easily take 50-60 minutes to get there.
    2) It would have cost me a fortune to park there.
    3) I'd obviously have to meet him at a time suitable for him & if he got stuck at customs or if his flight came in late I could be waiting for ages.

He seemed surprised at my lack of willing!

I have given away a fold away table and chairs a few weeks ago, the person i decided to give it to arrived at my door grabbed the item with a mumble and turnt and left, i am still fuming how rude i found that, not sure if i will even give things away like that again, would rather take to a charity shop than be left feeling like that, and yes i know everyone is not like that... Also shocks me when there is constantly requests for laptops, pc's, mobile phones and game consoles all from the same person....

  • Hi, I wonder if somebody can advice. We're thinking to signing to Freecycle and obviously offering a few things, but also thought of putting "wanted" ad for firewood(can chop ourselves if needed), before doing that I though I'd ask for your opinion-does this sound "greedy" or crazy or is this an ok thing to ask for? (Maybe there are people that don't need wood but chopped down a tree and want it removed etc) Do you see offers/wanteds for firewood on your local Freecycle? Thanks

I thought I'd start this thread after my experience yesterday, I'd love to know I'm not the only person this ever happens to! Or do I just attract this kind of person? I have obscured the person's name to save them some dignity.

I made the decision as to who the laptop would go to at about 11pm, needless to say I didn't choose her, slightly concerned that I now have to tell her she hasn't got it!
Helo, but u hav laptop stil there now plz i com now 2 get it.

never seen a wanted, as wood is offered on quite a quite a regular basis - no it isnt being greedy, however expect lots of offers from people wanting you to remove trees for them, rather than them offering you the trunk, ready to go

It's possible he's a transvestite/sexual - easier to get women's clothing that way than go to women's shops.
  • i love this board but as someone said about going through to see what they have offered before giving. This is something me and OH are experiencing. We moved from Gwent Freecycle to Blaenau Gwent Freecycle after moving house (we posted over 120 offered adverts before moving to get rid of some stuff) now we require a few things but everyone on Blaenau Gwent freecycle saying u never offer anything. Have tried to explain but to no avail. Is anyone else suffering the same fate? I mean im not asking for outrageous stuff like some. I asked for a laptop hard drive (this was even posted as a loaner to make sure my laptop hard drive wasn knackered- Someone eventually said they had one. ) other things we asked for in the past were some 0 to 3 clothing for baby due to my daughter was born at 11lb 2 oz so all the newborn stuff didnt fit her - no response, stroage containers to store books and toys - no response and some clothes for myself and OH because we were both made redundant just before having to move house (council condemnd our house and moves up 40 miles)

  • our local Freegle / freecycle today .........

"This is a long shot but!

I'm desperate and wandered if anyone out there, might be able to help
    me"

I'm in need of a Car that's got some MOT to get about in"

I was thinking of emailing and asking if they had any particular colour choice in mind !!!
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)
