I thought I'd start this thread after my experience yesterday, I'd love to know I'm not the only person this ever happens to! Or do I just attract this kind of person? I have obscured the person's name to save them some dignity.
I made the decision as to who the laptop would go to at about 11pm, needless to say I didn't choose her, slightly concerned that I now have to tell her she hasn't got it!GKWelding @10:44am:
This laptop is about 10 years old and is in working condition, however, the keyboard has seen better days and a few keys don't work anymore. Replacements can be picked up for around £30 last time I checked on eBay about a year ago.
The laptop does not come with an operating system installed however, it does still have a valid license for Microsoft Windows ME.
It has 1 ps2 port for either an external mouse or keyboard, 1 serial port for connection to a printer, 1 VGA port for connection to an external monitor, it has 2 usb ports, a 3.5" floppy drive and a CD drive. All of which work as far as I know.
The case has some slight scuffs and a crack but is in pretty good condition considering it's age. The battery holds about 2 minutes charge but does come with a charger which allows you to just run it directly off the mains power supply.
It also comes complete with a carry case. This laptop could easily be fixed up and would make a great little laptop for a child to play with.
CrazyLady @ 11:25am:

In the interests of fairness I will have to consider all requests for this item. However, I will certainly give it some very careful consideration before I decide, no 'names in a hat', promise.

I have crazies on freecycle too.....
 Lots of
"I'll come and pick it up now"
"I want it, I'll collect it on Saturday"
There is one woman who always replies to everything I ever put on there saying "Hubby can come and get it now" - she speaks in a mix of text speak and poor grammar....and I haven't given her anything yet...!!
I also don't give it to the first person to ask - although I know some people do...
I usually ask people to tell me where they are travelling from for the item, if it's a low value item, there is no point in travelling far for it.Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! I agree it is always a difficult decision to make.
I was quite surprised last week when I freecycled a very clean single mattress .I included a piccie to show how clean it was and I only got 2 takers!0

I find that the 'wanted' items are getting more and more outrageous, and frequent.
Keep seeing wanted ads for XBox360s and DSLites and similar.0

Well, in that case you think there's any chance of me getting a 4 bed house somewhere in Harrogate or York, hell even Skipton/Cross Hills would do :j ... Erm... No.0

We get loads of those as well. People asking for allsorts of high value stuff like i phones:eek: One person even asked for 2 Wii's as if she only got 1 her kids would fight over it :rotfl:
I offered 5 things last week and one person emailed for all of them, 4 of her requests said "Hi give it to me" and the last one said "What can I say" She didn't get any of them :rotfl:Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0

We get some very rude people on ours too, I only give to the people who say please and thank you. And don't 'spk in txt spk' !
And always give it a day before I decide, otherwise its just the same people that get everything all the time.0

Before I decided not to give it to her I did Google my name and my email address just to check she couldn't track me down. I'm a web developer and so references to me are fairly prominent on the web so I just had to have a quick check that I wasn't going to come home tonight to find the cat nailed to the front door or something!0
